Illey is a village near Halesowen (where population details as taken at the 2011 census can be found), in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, England.

Illey Pastures is a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) biological site of Special Scientific Interest in the West Midlands. The site was notified in 1989 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is close to the village of Illey.

King Edward VI Five Ways (KEFW) is a highly selective co-educational state grammar school for ages 11–18 in Bartley Green, Birmingham, England. One of the seven establishments of the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI, it is a voluntary aided school, with admission by highly selective examination. It was founded in Five Ways, Birmingham in 1883 and retained its name when it moved to Bartley Green in 1958. It is often ranked one of the best schools in Birmingham.

Bartley Green School is an academy with Technology and Sports College status for pupils aged 11–16 in the Bartley Green area of Birmingham, England.The school has approximately 900 pupils. The school comprises largely White British ethnic origin, with a small number of Black, Asian and mixed heritage backgrounds. The school has a higher-than-average proportion of students with special educations needs because the school has a unit for 55 students with speech and language difficulties, including autism spectrum disorders. The numeracy and literacy skills of pupils upon entry into the school in year 7 are below average.The school has gained a range of awards, including Artsmark Silver, Sports and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) marks, Investor in People and Healthy Schools accreditation.

Frankley Reservoir is a semi-circular reservoir for drinking water in Birmingham, England, operated by Severn Trent Water. Its construction was authorised by the Birmingham Corporation Water Act of 1892. It was built by Birmingham Corporation Water Department to designs by Abram Kellett of Ealing in 1904.It contains 900,000 cubic metres (200,000,000 imp gal) of water received from the Elan Valley Reservoirs, 117 km (73 mi) away, in Wales, which arrives via the Elan aqueduct, by the power of gravity alone, dropping 52 metres (171 ft) – an average gradient of 1 in 2,300. Before 1987 it was leaking 540 litres (120 imp gal) per second. In that year ground-penetrating radar was used successfully to isolate the leaks.

Dowery Dell, between Rubery and Halesowen in Worcestershire, was a 234 yards (214 m), nine span lattice steel, single-track railway viaduct that carried the Halesowen to Longbridge railway. A 10 mph speed limit was in operation. The line opened in 1883. Trains ran until 1964 and the viaduct was dismantled in 1965.

Lapal is a residential area of Halesowen in the West Midlands of England (part of Worcestershire until 1974). It is situated in the east of the town on the border with Birmingham. The Lapal area sits to the East of the Lapal Canal, to the North of Lapal Lane South up to what is now the M5 motorway, to the South West of Carters Lane and Kent Road, and to the South East of Mucklow Hill. Most of the houses were built between 1930 and 1980. In the late 1970s the large Abbeyfields estate was built alongside the currently disused portion of the Dudley Canal, adding to its already extensive owner-occupier housing stock. It is the most affluent suburb of Halesowen, commanding the largest average house prices of all the suburbs in the town. The area is served by Lapal Primary School and Leasowes High School, the Royal Oak public house and a small cluster of shops opposite, including a newsagent/post office, bakery, fish and chip shop, Chinese take-away, pharmacy and general grocery store. Also to be found in the area the ruins of the 13th century Halesowen Abbey, located in a field off the Manor Way by-pass. The area has local bus connections with Halesowen town centre, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Cradley Heath, Merry Hill, Birmingham and Oldbury. It is situated near to Junction 3 of the M5 motorway. The disused Lapal Canal Tunnel is nearby.

Bartley Reservoir is a reservoir for drinking water in Birmingham, England, operated by Severn Trent Water. It covers 460,000 square metres (5,000,000 sq ft). The reservoir is about 1.05 kilometres (0.65 mi) long, over 450 metres (1,480 ft) wide, and about 18 metres (60 ft) deep at the dam. Its surface area is 0.45 square kilometres (0.17 sq mi). It is known as the place where Bill Oddie did much of his early birdwatching, and features in his books (notably Bill Oddie's Gone Birding) and television programmes. His first ever published article, for the West Midland Bird Club's annual report, was about the birds of the reservoir. The reservoir is also home to Bartley Sailing Club.

The Lapal Tunnel (old spelling Lappal Tunnel) is a disused 3,795-yard (3,470 m) canal tunnel on the five mile dry section of the Dudley No. 2 Canal in the West Midlands, England. It takes its name from the settlement of Lapal.
