Sarzana Cathedral (Italian: Concattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta di Sarzana) in Sarzana, Liguria, Italy, is a co-cathedral of the Diocese of La Spezia-Sarzana-Brugnato. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The building is a mixture of the Romanesque and Gothic styles, reflecting the length of the period of its construction, from the early 13th to the late 15th century. The cathedral is noted as the home of a relic of St Andrew and of the Blood of Christ. There is also an important Romanesque Cross of Maestro Guglielmo of 1138.

The Orto Botanico di Montemarcello is a nature preserve and botanical garden located within the Parco Naturale Regionale di Montemarcello-Magra, near Ameglia, Province of La Spezia, Liguria, Italy. The garden stands atop Mount Murlo (365 m) within the Caprione promontory, hills dividing the gulf of La Spezia from the Magra river plain. It contains plants indigenous to the region, including Arbutus unedo, Phillyrea latifolia, Pinus halepensis, Pistacia lentiscus, Rhamnus alaternus, Quercus cerris, Quercus ilex, Quercus pubescens, as well as Psoralea bituminosa, Ruta angustifolia, and Thymus vulgaris.

Lerici (Ligurian: Lerxi, locally Lerze) is a town and comune in the province of La Spezia in Liguria (northern Italy), part of the Italian Riviera. It is situated on the coast of the Gulf of La Spezia, 8 kilometres (5 mi) southeast of La Spezia. It is known as the place where the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley drowned. The town is connected by ferry to the Cinque Terre and Portovenere. One of the main sights of Lerici is its castle which since its first founding in 1152 was used to help control the entrance of the Gulf of La Spezia. Today the castle contains a museum of palaeontology.

Santo Stefano di Magra borders the following municipalities: Aulla, Bolano, Sarzana, Vezzano Ligure.

The Magra is a 62-kilometre (39 mi) long river of Northern Italy, which runs through Pontremoli, Filattiera, Villafranca in Lunigiana and Aulla in the province of Massa-Carrara (Tuscany); Santo Stefano di Magra, Vezzano Ligure, Arcola, Sarzana and Ameglia in the province of La Spezia (Liguria). In Roman times, it was known as the Macra and marked the eastern boundary of the territory of Liguria. The river's drainage basin occupies around 1,700 km2 (660 sq mi). Its most important tributary is the Vara which joins the Magra from the right within the commune of Santo Stefano di Magra.
