Xuanwumen station (simplified Chinese: 玄武门站; traditional Chinese: 玄武門站; pinyin: Xuánwǔmén Zhàn) is a station of Line 1 of the Nanjing Metro. It started operations on 3 September 2005 as part of the line's Phase I from Maigaoqiao to Andemen.The station is named after Xuanwumen or Xuanwu Gate: the north gate of Ming Palace, Nanjing; Xuanwu itself refer to Black Tortoise, a deity for North.

Xinmofanmalu station (simplified Chinese: 新模范马路站; traditional Chinese: 新模範馬路站; pinyin: Xīnmófànmǎlù Zhàn), is a station of Line 1 of the Nanjing Metro. It started operations on 3 September 2005 as part of the line's Phase I from Maigaoqiao to Andemen.

Xuanwu Lake (Chinese: 玄武湖; pinyin: Xuánwǔ Hú) is located in Xuanwu District in the central-northeast part of Nanjing, Jiangsu. It is near the Nanjing Railway Station and Jiming Temple. Five islands within the lake are interconnected by arched bridges. Within the park are temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens, teahouses, restaurants, entertainment venues, a small zoo, and other attractions. Its main entrance is the Xuanwu Gate.

Nanjing No.13 Middle School (Chinese: 南京市第十三中学; pinyin: Nánjīng Shì Dìshísān Zhōngxué) is a senior high school located in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, near the city government. It is a Four-Star key high school of Jiangsu Province.

The Jiming Temple (simplified Chinese: 鸡鸣寺; traditional Chinese: 雞鳴寺; pinyin: Jīmíng Sì) is a renowned Buddhist temple in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. One of the oldest temples in Nanjing, it is located in the Xuanwu District near Xuanwu Lake.

The Christ's Church, Nanjing (Chinese: 南京基督教堂), locally known as Christ's Church, Jiangsu Road (江苏路基督教堂), is a Protestant church located on Jiangsu Road, in Gulou District, Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

China Pharmaceutical University (CPU; 中国药科大学) is a public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Province of Jiangsu. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction.

A Juniperus chinensis tree, over 1500 years-old, is located near Southeast University (Chinese: 东南大学; pinyin: Dōngnán Dàxué) in Nanjing. It was planted by the Emperor Wu of Liang, the founder of the Liang dynasty during the Six Dynasties period, within the compound of the Liang imperial palace. The palace was later destroyed by war, but the tree survives to this day. During the Ming dynasty, the Guozijian was built in the same location. In the beginning of the 20th century, the Liangjiang Normal Institute (Chinese: 两江师范学堂; pinyin: Liǎngjiāng Shīfàn Xuétáng) was situated here. That school was a predecessor of Southeast University, where the tree is now located.

Gulou station (simplified Chinese: 鼓楼站; traditional Chinese: 鼓樓站; pinyin: Gǔlóu Zhàn; lit. 'drum tower station'), is an interchange station on Line 1 and Line 4 of the Nanjing Metro. Opened on 3 September 2005 for the Line 1 portion of the station, Gulou station is among the first Nanjing Metro stations to open for passenger service. The line 4 section of the station opened on 18 January 2017, with cultural exhibits lining the station's walls. Located underneath a roundabout that links to Beijing West Road, Beijing East Road, Zhongyang Road, Zhongshan Road and Zhongshan North Road, Gulou station is located near Gulou Hospital, Nanjing University's Gulou campus, and is right underneath the Zifeng Tower.

Southeast University (SEU; Chinese: 东南大学; pinyin: Dōngnán Dàxué) is a public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. The university is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction. Its precursor, Sanjiang Teachers College, was established in 1902 as a modern university on the campus of an academy which dates back to 258. In 1921, the school changed its name to National Southeast University and became the second national university in China, and in 1928 was renamed to National Central University, the nation's flagship university. After the Nationalist government lost Nanjing to the Chinese Communist Party during the Chinese Civil War, the university was renamed as National Nanking University in August 1949. It was renamed Southeast University in May 1988.

Zifeng Tower (Greenland Center-Zifeng Tower or Greenland Square Zifeng Tower, formerly Nanjing Greenland Financial Center) is a 450-meter (1,480 ft) supertall skyscraper (special class of skyscraper) in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The 66-story building completed in 2010 comprises retail and office. Floors 49–71 feature a hotel, numerous restaurants, and a public observatory. The tower's stepping is functional; office, hotel, and retail are located above grade, while the restaurants and the public observatory are housed at the top of the tower. The building is currently the tallest in Nanjing and Jiangsu province, the eleventh tallest in China and the twentieth tallest in the world. Architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed the building, led by Adrian Smith. The Tower occupies an area of 18,721 square meters. The Nanjing Greenland InterContinental Hotel is located within the tower.

Jiankang (Chinese: 建康; pinyin: Jiànkāng), or Jianye (建業; Jiànyè), as it was originally called, was the capital city of the Eastern Wu (229–265 and 266–280 CE), the Eastern Jin dynasty (317–420 CE) and the Southern Dynasties (420–552), including the Chen dynasty (557–589 CE). Its walls are extant as ruins in the modern municipal region of Nanjing. Jiankang was an important city of the Song dynasty. Its name was changed to Nanjing during the Ming dynasty.
