On September 20, 2018, four people were shot and killed outside a Rite Aid distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland, United States. The shooting occurred 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Baltimore. This was the eighth mass shooting in Maryland in 2018, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

It is a large center-hall brick house, 64 by 45 feet (20 by 14 m), with a low stone wing, built in 1768 in the Georgian style. The interior features a double stair which extends upward on the west wall from both ends of the hall. Harford Furnace Historic District is a national historic district at Bel Air, Harford County, Maryland, United States. It consists of five standing structures and several archeological sites associated with the operation of the iron furnace which began about 1830 and continued to function until 1876. They cover approximately 30 acres (120,000 m2) of rolling land. The district side is both open and wooded and includes land on both sides of James Run, a small south-flowing tributary of the Bush River.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Edgewood Chemical Activity (abbreviated ECA) was a U.S. Army site located in Edgewood, Maryland that stored chemical weapons. Its construction was started by Ordnance Corps in November 1917 and completed in less than a year. The arsenal was to employ about 10,000 civilian and military personnel in fabrication of chemical weapons and filling gas shells with phosgene, chlorpicrin, chlorine and mustard gas. Since 1941, the U.S. Army stored approximately five percent of the nation's original chemical agent in steel ton containers, at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
