Sarkhej is a suburban neighbourhood in the city of Ahmedabad. It is primarily known for the Sarkhej Roza is an architectural complex located 8 km south from the city centre. One of the most important roads of metropolitan Ahmedabad, Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway, originates from Sarkhej and ends at the twin city Gandhinagar.

Sarkhej Roza is a mosque and tomb complex located in the village of Makarba, 7 km south-west of Ahmedabad in Gujarat state, India. Although there are many rozas across Gujarat, the Sarkhej Roza is the most revered. Sarkhej was once a prominent centre of Sufi culture in the country, where influential Sufi saint Shaikh Ahmed Ganj Baksh lived. It was on the saint's suggestion that Sultan Ahmed Shah set up his capital on the banks of the Sabarmati, a few miles away from Sarkhej.

Juhapura ([dʒuɦɑpuɾɑ]) is a neighbourhood in New West Zone of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India near Sarkhej, along the National Highway 8A that goes towards Saurashtra and Kutch. The area was developed in 1973 for the people who lost houses in flood, it was founded then prime minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi. The first housing society of the area was Sarni Kamdar. The population of Juhapura is largely Muslim. Many Muslim professionals and businessmen also live in this area. Juhapura was a small suburb with a small population until the mid-1980s, but after the communal riots of Gujarat from 1985 until 2002, many Muslims migrated from the Muslim and Hindu-dominated areas of Ahmedabad and the surrounding cities to Juhapura, causing a construction boom. Land and housing prices subsequently increased. Juhapura is primarily residential but now also hosts a hospital, many schools, restaurants and dhabas and a food market.

The Space Applications Centre (SAC) is an institution of research in Ahmedabad under the aegis of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is one of the major centres of ISRO that is engaged in the research, development and demonstration of applications of space technology in the field of telecommunications, remote sensing, meteorology and satellite navigation (Sat Nav). This includes research and development of on-board systems, ground systems and end user equipment hardware and software. SAC has three campuses, two of which are located at Ahmedabad and one at Delhi.

Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha constituency (Gujarati: અમદાવાદ પશ્ચિમ લોકસભા મતવિસ્તાર) is one of the 26 Lok Sabha (lower house of Indian parliament) constituencies in Gujarat, a state in western India. This constituency was created as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies in 2008. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Dr.Kirit Premjibhai Solanki of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As of latest elections in 2019, Dr.Solanki represents this constituency.
