Westgate Mall is an indoor shopping mall located in Amarillo, Texas, United States. It has over 100 mainline stores and 3 anchor stores, two Dillard's locations, with the men's store originally a Mervyn's and the women’s store originally a Sears, JCPenney, with 1 vacant anchor last occupied by the former Dillard’s. The mall opened in October 1982 and cost $40 million to construct. It is located along Interstate 40.On December 28, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 80 stores nationwide. The store closed in March 2019.The mall is partially in Potter County, Texas and partially in Randall County, Texas. The county line goes through the JCPenney store.

The Amarillo Botanical Gardens (4.4 acres) includes botanical gardens and Mary E. Bivins Tropical conservatory. The gardens are located in Medical Center Park at 1400 Streit Drive, Amarillo, Texas. The gardens were established on November 17, 1968, after a number of years of fundraising.

Western Crossing, formerly known as Western Plaza, is a shopping mall in Amarillo, Texas, United States. It opened in 1968 with a construction cost of approximately US$13 million. Western Plaza was once a main shopping point in Amarillo, but from the 1980s to 2000s has suffered stores leaving its complex. It is demolished and a new shopping center is being built. The Western Crossings shopping center is estimated to cost US$40 million.

Don Harrington Discovery Center is a nonprofit interactive science center and planetarium in Amarillo, Texas, U.S. The Discovery Center is located in the city's hospital district and is named after philanthropist Don Harrington.Located in front of the Discovery Center is the Helium Centennial Time Columns Monument. The planetarium was renovated in 2003 and was implemented with the Digistar 3, fulldome video projection technology.Most of the Discovery Center's income comes from admission fees, membership fees, special events and programs, while the rest comes from event and exhibit sponsorships and grants from charitable organizations such as Amarillo Area Foundation and the Harrington Foundation. The Don Harrington Discovery Center is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that largely relies on the support of its community. The Discovery center is a member of the Association of Children's Museums Reciprocal Program and Association of Science-Technology Centers Passport Program, allowing members to receive free or reduced admission at various museums all across America.

Tascosa High School is a public high school located in Amarillo, Texas (USA) and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. It is one of four high schools in the Amarillo Independent School District located in southern Potter County. The school was opened in 1958. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Texas Tech University at Amarillo, located in Amarillo, Texas, is an official off campus teaching site of Lubbock-based Texas Tech University. Soncy was an unincorporated community in Potter County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is now largely within the city limits of Amarillo. Soncy joins St. Francis Boulevard, which runs east to west in the northern section of town, with Hollywood Road routing west to east in the southern section of town. Soncy is a main thoroughfare in the west and intersects the belt road in Amarillo. The town is geographically located between Interstate 40 and the former U.S. Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle. In the early 1930s, the United States Bureau of Mines and United States Department of War constructed an industrial gas extraction plant known as the Amarillo Helium Plant within the vicinity of Soncy, Texas.

St. Andrew's Episcopal School is a private school located in Amarillo, Texas, United States, providing education from primer to grade 8. The school was founded in 1951. In December 2010, the Plainview (Texas) Daily Herald described St. Andrew's as "regarded among the [Texas] Panhandle's finest private schools."

The US Route 66-Sixth Street Historic District is a historic district in Amarillo, Texas. The district is centered around the main section of the historic Route 66 in the San Jacinto Heights district of the city, which includes the Amarillo Natatorium. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 23, 1994.

The Ranchotel is a motel in Amarillo, Texas. The building was completed in 1940, and was popular with travelers using the historic U.S. Route 66. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 1995.

Zita is an unincorporated community in Randall County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. Zita was a station on the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway near the intersection of Farm roads 335 and 1541, ten miles northeast of Canyon in northern Randall County. During the early 1900s a rural community grew with the establishment of a school three miles south of the railroad switch. A post office was opened on July 23, 1907, but was discontinued five years later. Doubling as the community center, the school remained in operation until the consolidation of the Canyon Independent School District. Subsequently, the building was demolished, and with the recent growth of south Amarillo the community has gradually faded away. The records of the old Zita school are stored in the archives of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum.
