Walker is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located about 4 miles (6 km) north of Cottage Grove on Oregon Route 99, near the Coast Fork Willamette River.A station with the name "Walkers" was established on the Siskiyou Line of the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1881. Walker post office was established in 1891 by Francis Smith, who bought some property from area pioneer Mrs. J. F. Walker and named the office for her, though the locale was being called Walker at least ten years earlier. The name of the station was named to match the post office in 1898. The office was discontinued in 1925.As of 1990, the former Walker schoolhouse was being used as a shed and shop. Walker Union Church was built in 1895, and has a church cemetery.

Saginaw lies at the intersection of Oregon Route 99 and Saginaw Road, just west of the Saginaw exit of Interstate 5. Saginaw is northeast of Cottage Grove.

The Row River is a river, approximately 20 miles (32 km) long, in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It rises in the Cascade Range and flows into the Coast Fork Willamette River near Cottage Grove. The stream was originally known as the "East Fork Coast Fork", but was later renamed after a dispute (row) between neighbors and brothers-in-law George Clark and Joseph Southwell over "trespassing" livestock. Clark was killed as a result of the row. The name rhymes with "cow" rather than with "slow". A post office named Row River operated from 1911 to 1914 a little north of the present site of Dorena at 43.740123°N 122.880347°W / 43.740123; -122.880347.

Cottage Grove Community Hospital was founded by PeaceHealth after the existing community hospital declared bankruptcy. It is located in Cottage Grove, Oregon, in southern Lane County. The facility provides 24-hour emergency care and a 14-bed inpatient unit. This hospital is not part of the Oregon state trauma system. Major trauma patients are transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield.

Cottage Grove State Airport or Jim Wright Field (FAA LID: 61S), is a public airport serving small general aviation aircraft, located one mile (1.6 km) east of the city of Cottage Grove in Lane County, Oregon, USA. On December 17, 2003 the airfield was named after Jim Wright, a local aviator and businessman who built a reproduction Hughes H-1 Racer. Wright died in an aircraft accident on August 4, 2003.

The Cochran–Rice Farm Complex, which included the Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets Barn, is located in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1991. The barn was demolished in 2012 following the expiration of a 20-year easement held by the local historical society.

The Currin Bridge is a Howe truss covered bridge near Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States. It crosses the Row River. The Currin Bridge was built in 1925 to replace another bridge built in 1883. The lowest bid received by Lane County for construction of the bridge was $6,250, so the county decided to build the bridge on its own for $4,205, saving $2,495 of taxpayers' money. The bridge was named after an early pioneer family.The Currin Bridge is the only bridge in Oregon that is painted two different colors. The Currin Bridge has white portals and red sides. It is one of seven covered bridges in the immediate area.In 1979, Lane County completed a new concrete bridge nearby the Currin Bridge and closed the old bridge to traffic. The new bridge is only a few feet away from the Currin Bridge, which is still accessible by pedestrians. In 1987, the bridge had work done fumigating for insects and structural repair, and in 1993–1995, the Oregon Covered Bridge Program of Lane County received a grant of $48,000 to restore the bridge. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Brumbaugh Bridge was a covered bridge in Lane County in the U.S. state of Oregon. Built in 1948, the structure originally carried Row River Road over Mosby Creek near Cottage Grove. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and was subsequently delisted.The bridge was demolished in 1979. Some of its timbers were combined with timbers from Meadows Bridge, also demolished in 1979, to construct a covered pedestrian bridge, Centennial Covered Bridge, over the Coast Fork Willamette River in Cottage Grove.The Howe truss structure, 90 feet (27 m) long, was the second covered bridge at this location. The first Brumbaugh Bridge was a 92-foot (28 m) Howe truss structure built in 1925.

Row River National Recreation Trail is a rails to trails conversion in the U.S. state of Oregon. It follows the Row River for 16.2 miles (26.1 km) between Cottage Grove and Culp Creek, passing by Dorena Lake, and provides access to many forest trails of Umpqua National Forest. The rail line was built to serve the gold and silver mining of the Bohemia mining district well up the Row River. The mines were closing by the time the rail line was complete, but the region's old-growth timber attracted many logging operations and communities that kept the rail line busy. The Oregon Pacific & Eastern Railway abandoned the line in 1994. A timber sale default resulted in the Bureau of Land Management taking the rail corridor in exchange for payment. There are three historic covered bridges near the trail: the Mosby Creek Bridge of 1920, Currin Bridge of 1925, and the Dorena Bridge of 1949.Several movies have been filmed along the route, including 1926's The General with Buster Keaton, 1974's Emperor of the North (Pole) with Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine, and 1986's Stand by Me with Keifer Sutherland and River Phoenix.
