Mexico Point State Park

The Little Salmon River is a tributary of Lake Ontario located in Oswego County, New York. The river enters Lake Ontario approximately four miles (6.4 km) southwest from the mouth of the Salmon River. The river was known by the Iroquois as Cas-son-ta-che-go-na, translated as "river of great bark" or "large pieces of bark lying down, ready for building". In addition to its current name, the stream was historically known as Salmon Creek or Little Salmon Creek. The current name was officially adopted by the United States Board on Geographic Names in 1905.

Mexico station is a historic railway depot located at Mexico in Oswego County, New York. It was built in 1905 by the Oswego and Rome Railroad. It is a one-story, Stick style, wood-frame building, 40 feet by 100 feet in size. It has a broad hip roof with a wide overhang. Also on the property is a two stall privy. It was last used as a railroad depot in 1940.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 as Mexico Railroad Depot.

It was built in 1938 after a previous 1927 building was damaged by fire in 1937. It is a two-story, Georgian Revival style brick building in a U-shaped plan. It features a distinctive tower that contains an 1828 bell from an earlier building. The entry is distinguished by a two-story, five-bay portico supported by six Ionic columns and crowned by a Chippendale patterned balustrade.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Mexico Academy and Central School in 1991.
