Mario Rimoldi Modern Art Museum (Museo d'Arte Moderna "Mario Rimoldi") is a contemporary and modern art museum in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It is one of three museums administered by Le Regole d'Ampezzo, the other two being the Rinaldo Zardini Palaeontology Museum and the Regole of Ampezzo Ethnographic Museum. It opened in 1974 after a donation from Rosa Braun, the widow of Mario Rimoldi. Rimoldi's collection was displayed in 1941, it moved to the Regole d'Ampezzo in 1963, and by 1995, the collection contained 364 works of art. The collection is said to contain some of the most influential Italian art produced between World War I and World War II, and provides a perspective of the modern art movement in Veneto, Italy pre-1940.The museum's permanent exhibition includes works by Filippo De Pisis, Felice Carena, Pio Semeghini, Renato Guttuso, Tullio Garbari, and Massimo Campigli. The museum is also used as a venue for live music performances.

Apollonio Stadium (Stadio Apollonio) is a sports venue located in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. As the "Romano and Armando Apollonio Stadium", it was used as a subsidiary rink to the Olympic Ice Stadium to host some of the ice hockey events for the 1956 Winter Olympics.The rink was originally 47 m x 85 m, but was increased to 62.5 m x 85 m in order to accommodate two rinks for two competitions to be played at the same time. Originally seated for 1,000 spectators, it was expanded to 2,000 for the games. Today, the venue is primarily used for tennis.

Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italian pronunciation: [korˈtiːna damˈpɛttso]; Ladin: Anpezo, Ampëz; historical Austrian German: Hayden) is a town and comune in the heart of the southern (Dolomitic) Alps in the province of Belluno, in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Situated on the Boite river, in an alpine valley, it is an upscale summer and winter sport resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, accommodation, shops and après-ski scene, and for its jet set and Italian aristocratic crowd. In the Middle Ages, Ampezzo fell under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Aquileia and of the Holy Roman Empire. In 1420 it was conquered by the Republic of Venice. From 1508, it then spent much of its history under Habsburg rule, briefly undergoing some territorial changes under Napoleon, before being returned to the Austrian Empire (later Austria-Hungary), which held it until 1918. From the nineteenth century, Cortina d'Ampezzo became a notable regional centre for crafts. The local handmade products were appreciated by early British and German holidaymakers as tourism emerged in the late nineteenth century. Among the specializations of the town were crafting wood for furniture, the production of tiled stoves, and iron, copper and glass items. Today, the local economy thrives on tourism, particularly during the winter season, when the population of the town typically increases from about 7,000 to 40,000. The Basilica Minore dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo was built between 1769 and 1775 on the site of two former thirteenth and sixteenth-century churches; it is home to the parish and the deanery of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The town also contains the Rinaldo Zardini Palaeontology Museum, established in 1975, the Mario Rimoldi Modern Art Museum, and the Regole of Ampezzo Ethnographic Museum. Although Cortina d'Ampezzo was unable to go ahead with the scheduled 1944 Winter Olympics because of World War II, it hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and subsequently a number of world winter-sports events. Cortina d'Ampezzo will host the Winter Olympics for a second time when it co-hosts the 2026 Winter Olympics with Milan. The town is home to SG Cortina, a top league professional ice hockey team, and Cortina d'Ampezzo is also the start and end point of the annual Dolomites Gold Cup Race. Several films have been shot in the town, most notably The Pink Panther (1963), For Your Eyes Only (1981), and Cliffhanger (1993).

The Dolomites Railway (German: Dolomitenbahn, Italian: Ferrovia delle Dolomiti), originally the Ampezzaner Bahn or Ampezzaner Railway, was a railway in Northern Italy crossing the Dolomites mountains. The 64.9-kilometre (40.3-mile) long railway began in Calalzo and ended in Toblach. Its gauge was 950 mm — "Italian metre gauge". The Cortina d'Ampezzo - Toblach part was closed in 1962 and the Cortina d'Ampezzo - Calalzo di Cadore in 1964. Two EMUs went to the Trento - Malè railway and are still in use. Other vehicles went to the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane.

The 2010 World Men's Curling Championship (branded as the Capital One World Men's Curling Championship 2010 for sponsorship reasons) was held from April 3–11, 2010 at the Stadio Olimpico Del Ghiaccio in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1932 were held 4–6 February in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, the second edition of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships alpine skiing competition and organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The combined event was added to the program. Alpine skiing was not yet a part of the Winter Olympics in 1932, held 4–15 February in Lake Placid, New York; it was added to the Olympic program in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1941 in alpine skiing were the tenth edition of the competition, organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS), and were held on 1–9 February 1941 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1941 were held simultaneously at the same location. Later, in 1946, the FIS canceled the results and deemed the Championships unofficial as the attendees only included Axis nationals and citizens of neutral countries: Italy, the German Reich (Austria joined Germany in 1938), Bulgaria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Yugoslavia, Romania, Switzerland and Hungary. Due to World War II, there was a nine-year hiatus of the official competition until the 1948 Winter Olympics.

Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio (English: Olympic Ice Stadium) was built between 1952 and 1954, primarily as an open air Figure skating arena in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, to hold between seven and eight thousand spectators, with the possibility of making temporary arrangements to accommodate twelve to fifteen thousand for the period of the Olympics. The venue was inaugurated on 26 October 1955. During the 1956 Winter Olympics, the arena held the opening and closing ceremonies, the figure skating events and select ice hockey games. Sometime after 1981, a roof was added to the structure. The stadium will host curling in the 2026 Winter Olympics and it will also host wheelchair curling and the Closing Ceremony in the 2026 Winter Paralympics.

Cappella della Beata Vergine di Lourdes (Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes; also known as Chiesetta di Grava) is a Roman Catholic chapel located in Cortina d'Ampezzo's Grava di Sotto neighborhood. Built in 1907, it contains elements by the artist Corrado Pitscheider of the Val Gardena. Its feast day is celebrated on 11 February. The interior features a spacious nave, an altar, and the Lourdes grotto. The space is lit by large windows. There are statues of the Virgin and Santa Bernadette, as well as St. Lucia and St. Michael the Archangel. A framed canvas of St. Joseph with the Child hangs in the presbytery.

The Eugenio Monti Olympic Track (Italian: Pista olimpica Eugenio Monti ) was a bobsleigh and skeleton track located in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It was named after Eugenio Monti (1928–2003), who won six bobsleigh medals at the Winter Olympic Games between 1956 and 1968 and ten medals at the FIBT World Championships between 1957 and 1966. It was featured in the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only, held after the 1981 FIBT World Championships, before the track was shortened to its current configuration. In January 2008, after one last bobsleigh race tournament, the track was closed.

Olimpia delle Tofane is the classic women's World Cup downhill ski course in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It debuted 68 years ago at the 1956 Winter Olympics, hosting the men's downhill.

Stadio della neve was a temporary stadium located in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Located in the Campo di Sotto area, the venue hosted the cross-country skiing and the cross-country skiing part of the Nordic combined events for the 1956 Winter Olympics. Post Olympics the stands and scoreboard was removed with the site now a grass field.
