The school is named after George Beck who was Archbishop of Liverpool from 1964 to 1976.It is a voluntary aided school administered by Liverpool City Council and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. Archbishop Beck Catholic High School gained specialist Sports College status in 2000, and was renamed Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College. Previously located on Cedar Road, the school moved to a new campus on Long Lane in 2014. After the specialist schools programme ended the school was renamed Archbishop Beck Catholic College. Archbishop Beck Catholic College offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. Students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs, which are offered as part of the North Liverpool Partnership consortium of school sixth forms.

The Walton Centre, formerly known as the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, is a major neurology hospital located in the suburb of Fazakerley in the city of Liverpool, England. It is one of several specialist hospitals located within the Liverpool City Region alongside Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool Women's Hospital, Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The wards in the hospital are all named after pioneering neurosurgeons in the 20th and 21st century. It is managed by the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

Warbreck railway station was on the North Liverpool Extension Line to the south of Walton Vale, Liverpool, England.The purely passenger station opened on 1 August 1929 and closed on 7 November 1960. The through tracks were not lifted until 1980.

Warbreck Park is a park in Walton, Liverpool, located on the site of the former Liverpool Corporation Tramways depot. The main access is from Warbreck Moor. Warbreck Park used to house a bowling green, which was removed in the 1980s. Its main facilities are now a children's play area and an adventure play area.

The racecourse is best known for annually holding the Grand National steeplechase. The Grand National meeting takes place in April over 3 days. Aintree also holds meetings in May and June (both on Friday evenings), October (Sunday), November and December (both Saturdays).

The Grand National is a National Hunt horse race held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England. First run in 1839, it is a handicap steeplechase over an official distance of about 4 miles and 2½ furlongs (4 miles 514 yards (6.907 km)), with horses jumping 30 fences over two laps. It is the most valuable jump race in Europe, with a prize fund of £1 million in 2017. An event that is prominent in British culture, the race is popular amongst many people who do not normally watch or bet on horse racing at other times of the year.The course over which the race is run features much larger fences than those found on conventional National Hunt tracks. Many of these fences, particularly Becher's Brook, The Chair and the Canal Turn, have become famous in their own right and, combined with the distance of the event, create what has been called "the ultimate test of horse and rider".The Grand National has been broadcast live on free-to-air terrestrial television in the United Kingdom since 1960. From then until 2012 it was broadcast by the BBC. Channel 4 broadcast the event between 2013 and 2016: UK broadcasting rights were transferred to ITV from 2017. An estimated 500 to 600 million people watch the Grand National in over 140 countries. The race has also been broadcast on radio since 1927; BBC Radio held exclusive rights until 2013. Talksport acquired radio commentary rights in 2014: Both the BBC and Talksport currently broadcast the race in full. The most recent running of the race, in 2022, was won by Noble Yeats. Since 2017, the race and accompanying festival have been sponsored by Randox.
