Redcliffe railway station

Perth Immigration Detention Centre was opened in 1981 and is located near the domestic terminal of Perth Airport, Western Australia.The Perth IDC contained both a detention centre and residential housing for families. In 2009 it was managed by G4S, a private company, but as of 2019 it is managed by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

Redcliffe is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Belmont local government area. The boundaries of the suburb are determined by the Great Eastern Highway, Tonkin Highway and Epsom Avenue, Belmont, and the grounds of the Perth International Airport which lie on the eastern edge of the suburb.The story of its name is ambiguous: while some claim it was named after steep red clay deposits that lined the banks of the Swan River when settlers first arrived, others claim that it was named after the ancestral home of an early settler. The suburb was once a single property near modern-day Water Street and the main house, "Nulsen Haven" still stands today. The local primary school was built in 1908 and at this time, Redcliffe had been transformed from one property into many small farms after being subdivided in 1897. Modern Redcliffe is a mix of residential, semi-industrial and retail buildings. It is 18 minutes from the Perth central business district and a short walk from the Swan River.

Redcliffe Bridge is a traffic bridge which carries Tonkin Highway across the Swan River between the Perth suburbs of Ascot and Bayswater. It is named after Redcliffe, which is a nearby suburb. Designed by Maunsell & Partners and built by Thiess Contractors, construction of the bridge started in 1986. The bridge was constructed using an incremental launch technique, and cost A$15 million to complete. It was officially opened on 16 April 1988. The bridge is 271 metres (889 ft) long, with five spans and a pre-stressed concrete deck 34 metres (112 ft) wide, supporting six lanes of traffic. The structure of the bridge is that of a hollow box girder, with the outer sides of the deck supported by special Y-beams.

The Ascot Water Playground is a former recreation facility in Ascot, Western Australia. Built in 1975 under the Labor government's Red Scheme for the long-term unemployed, it was officially opened in November 1977 at a cost of $326,156. The complex had pools, water slides, and mini-golf. The park closed in 2002 because of new occupational health and safety laws, as well as river run-off laws.It was added to the Municipal Heritage Inventory in 2003.

Ascot is a suburb of Perth, covering a narrow strip of land along the southern bank of the Swan River approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) east of the Perth central business district. Its local government area is the City of Belmont. The suburb, which was previously part of Belmont and Redcliffe, was officially established on 7 March 1991, with the boundaries being approved on 22 March 1991. It was named after the Ascot Racecourse, a major horse-racing track located within the suburb's boundaries.

Ron Courtney Island is a small uninhabited manmade river island in the Swan River, located in the suburb of Ascot in Perth, Western Australia. It was named in honour of the first chairman of the Swan River Conservation Board, which was formed in 1959.The island was formed in 1969 after a channel was cut through Garvey Park in an effort to alleviate the erosion caused by the flow of the Swan River. It has a stand of flooded gum and a fringing community of shorerush and lake club rush. The understorey is predominantly exotic grass species which gives the island a parkland character. It is one of only four islands in the lower Swan River, the others being Kuljak Island, Heirisson Island and the island in Elizabeth Quay.

Perth Airport (IATA: PER, ICAO: YPPH) is an international, domestic and general aviation airport serving Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. It is the fourth busiest airport in Australia measured by passenger movements and falls within the boundaries of the City of Belmont, City of Kalamunda and the City of Swan. Perth Airport and Jandakot Airport, the other civilian airport within the mainland Perth metropolitan area located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-southwest of the general aviation area of the airport, recorded a combined total of 362,782 aircraft movements in 2017.Since 1997, it has been operated by Perth Airport Pty Ltd under a 99-year lease from the Commonwealth Government.: 48 

Bicton is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia. It is located in Perth's southern suburbs, and named after the riverside suburb of Bicton. Bicton was created by the Western Australian Electoral Commission in a 2015 redistribution, and elected its first member at the 2017 state election. It incorporates areas that previously fell into the seats of Alfred Cove, Bateman, Fremantle and Willagee.

Belmont is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. Belmont is named for the inner eastern Perth suburb of Belmont, which falls within its borders. The seat was in its present incarnation considered a safe Labor seat prior to 2013, and was held by former Labor leader Eric Ripper; however, it fell to Liberal Glenys Godfrey in the Liberal landslide at the 2013 state election. Belmont reverted to its status as a safe Labor seat when Cassie Rowe won it at the 2017 state election.

Ashfield is a residential suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the Town of Bassendean. The suburb is located along the Swan River. The Midland line passes through the suburb and it is serviced by the Ashfield railway station. It is home to Ashfield Reserve, which also contains Ashfield Arena. It also contains Ashfield Flats, the largest river flat remaining in the Perth metropolitan area.The housing was originally established as small collection of railway houses near the train line. In the late 1950s early 1960s the area experienced a small boom of housing (400 houses) mostly built by the then State Housing Commission partly funded by the sale of half the properties to individuals. In the late 1960s the State Housing started to reacquire some of those properties. During the late 1990s the suburb underwent a revamp driven by the State Housing Commission, now called the Department of Housing. This occurred in conjunction with the infill sewage project which was created to convert Perth homes from septic tanks and leach drains to mains sewage. They bulldozed houses on land where they had adjoining properties. For every three houses removed five to seven were built in their place. The majority of these were sold off to low income and first home buyers. The Department of Housing still owns about 22% of the houses (as opposed to their stated goal of 10%), and uses their housing stock as subsidised rental accommodation. The deepest point of the Swan River upstream from Melville Water occurs in Ashfield. It was in this area the farthest upstream recording of sharks occurred with one being caught in the late 1970s.

Perth Airport is an eastern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Its local government areas are the City of Belmont, the City of Swan (north) and the City of Kalamunda (east). It is located approximately 12 km east of the central business district. The suburb is the home of Perth Airport, the main international airport of Perth.
