The Friends' School, Hobart is an independent co-educational Quaker day and boarding school located in North Hobart, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Founded in 1887 by Quakers, the school currently caters for approximately 1330 students from pre-kindergarten to Year 12, including 47 boarders from Years 7 to 12. It is the largest Quaker school in the world.Friends' is affiliated with the Association of Independent Schools of Tasmania (AIST), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), the Australian Boarding Schools' Association (ABSA), and is a member of the Sports Association of Tasmanian Independent Schools (SATIS).

St. Peter's Lutheran Church (SPLC) is located in Warrane, Tasmania. The church's denomination is Lutheran and has approximately 140 members. The Lutheran school associated with St Peter's Church was moved to Warrane in 1982. The church followed a number of years later. In addition to worship services and the church's related religious education and fellowship program, the church has multiple events throughout the year such as the Easter breakfast on Mt Wellington and a Christmas pageant. The Domain Athletic Centre is an athletics facilities in Tasmania, Australia, and is located on the Queens Domain in the capital city of Hobart. It was formerly home to the Briggs Track Classic the Tasmanian round of the Australian Athletics Tour. The stadium hosted the Australian Athletics Championships upon its opening in 1977 and is the foremost venue for athletics in Tasmania.The centre has one major covered grandstand with all seating, changerooms, public toilets, and a kiosk. The centre features low grade lighting most suitable for evening training, but not really up to match standards. There is a carpark with 250 spaces. It is an Olympic Standard 400 metre oval track with 10 lanes, as well as a straight section for 100 metre sprinting, and 100 metre hurdle races. It also features a steeplechase lane with waterpit, and lanes for long jump, pole vault and dedicated areas for high jump, discus and hammer throwing and the javelin. The interior of the track is grass, and is regularly used to host football matches for both local schools and Football Federation Tasmania league Association Football (soccer) matches.

Elizabeth College is a government comprehensive senior secondary school located in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1911 as the Elizabeth Street School and known as Elizabeth College since 1985, the college caters for approximately 1,000 students in Years 11 and 12 and is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. In 2019 student enrolments were 959. The college principal in 2022 is Shane Fuller.

Holy Trinity Church is a former Anglican, and now Greek Orthodox, church in North Hobart, Tasmania.Holy Trinity has the oldest peal of bells of its type outside England.The church was designed in the Gothic Revival style by James Blackburn and consecrated in 1849. Rev. Philip Palmer was its first rector.In February 2007, a property assessment report found that more than $5 million was needed to restore the church building, and that it was unrealistic for the parish to continue maintaining all its properties. The following month, the parish council petitioned the Bishop of Tasmania, Rt. Rev. John Harrower, to deconsecrate the building. In August the decision to close the church was communicated to the congregation, and the final service was held on 28 October 2007.The Holy Trinity Church Charitable Trust was formed in November 2007 in an effort to preserve the building. The Trust asked the Anglican Church to transfer the property to them, but it was instead sold to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. As of 2015, extensive repairs had started on the church.

Glebe is a suburb of Hobart, capital city of Tasmania, Australia. The suburb is a very small area adjacent to the city on the same part of land as the Queens Domain, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the Hobart Aquatic Centre. At the 2016 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 554.Glebe is a small suburb in comparison to some in Hobart. On the north and east sides, the suburb is surrounded by the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Brooker Avenue marks the western boundary of the suburb, while the Tasman Highway marks the southern side. The Glebe contains some examples of Victorian and Federation Style wooden terraced houses, some of which are up to 4 storeys high and tower over the Brooker Avenue impressively. Glebe was the birthplace and early home of brothers Ernest, Tasman and Arthur Higgins, all of whom became pioneering cinematographers of Australian cinema during the silent era.

The TCA Ground, or Tasmanian Cricket Association Ground, is one of two first-class standard cricket grounds in Hobart, Tasmania. It is located on the Queens Domain less than one kilometre from the CBD. The TCA Ground is a picturesque ground with a village feel and white picket boundary which could easily belong in the English countryside, except for the typical Australian Eucalypt bushland which hugs the boundary line. Due to its elevated position on the Domain the ground has commanding views over the River Derwent and city, as well as being dominated by views of Mount Wellington. This elevated position also exposes the ground to strong sea breezes which can provide excellent assistance for bowlers. During a match between the touring South African team and a Combined XI in December 1963, South African captain Trevor Goddard appealed to the umpires about the strength of the wind, which led to play being suspended.The ground is regularly used for local Grade competition cricket in the summer, and Australian rules football in the winter. It has both synthetic and grass nets, and an indoor bowling practice area. The other first-class standard ground in Tasmania is the now preferred Bellerive Oval in the City of Clarence which has since the late 1970s overtaken the TCA Ground as the home of the Tasmanian cricket team and the TCA, and the ground which hosts Australia's international matches when they play in Hobart. No first-class cricket has been played at the TCA Ground since 1987. It currently hosts Hobart Football Club (SFL) and DOSA Football Club (Old Scholars FA) Australian Rules football matches each Winter and North Hobart Cricket Club matches in TCA cricket each Summer.

New Town is a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, about 4 kilometres (2 mi) north of the central business district of Hobart. It is generally considered Hobart's oldest suburb, settled just a week after Sullivan's Cove. It was historically the home of many of Hobart's wealthiest citizens, and New Town features a large number of grand residences, churches, and public buildings. The large farms were broken up following the world wars and it is now an inner city residential suburb. Many of its streets are lined with Federation style cottages. It is surrounded by the suburbs of North Hobart, Mount Stuart, Lenah Valley and Moonah, with the Queen's Domain just to the south-east. Most of the locality is within the Hobart local government area, with 2.5% within Glenorchy.
