Domain Athletic Centre

The Queens Domain, also known as The Domain to locals, is a small hilly area of bushland just north-east of the CBD of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, alongside the Derwent River. It is traditionally land that "belongs to the people", as commissioned by the Governor in 1860.On the side of the hill facing the river sits Government House, one of the finest in the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Nearby was the original location of the now closed Hobart Zoo. Closer to the city, several sporting complexes are located, including the Hobart Aquatic Centre, Hobart International Tennis Centre the Domain Athletic Centre, and the Hobart TCA Ground. The Hobart Cenotaph is also located on the Queens Domain.The north-west face, along with most of the area, is covered in bushland, as well as a few small community halls, picnic areas, barbecues and a community green.

The TCA Ground, or Tasmanian Cricket Association Ground, is one of two first-class standard cricket grounds in Hobart, Tasmania. It is located on the Queens Domain less than one kilometre from the CBD. The TCA Ground is a picturesque ground with a village feel and white picket boundary which could easily belong in the English countryside, except for the typical Australian Eucalypt bushland which hugs the boundary line. Due to its elevated position on the Domain the ground has commanding views over the River Derwent and city, as well as being dominated by views of Mount Wellington. This elevated position also exposes the ground to strong sea breezes which can provide excellent assistance for bowlers. During a match between the touring South African team and a Combined XI in December 1963, South African captain Trevor Goddard appealed to the umpires about the strength of the wind, which led to play being suspended.The ground is regularly used for local Grade competition cricket in the summer, and Australian rules football in the winter. It has both synthetic and grass nets, and an indoor bowling practice area. The other first-class standard ground in Tasmania is the now preferred Bellerive Oval in the City of Clarence which has since the late 1970s overtaken the TCA Ground as the home of the Tasmanian cricket team and the TCA, and the ground which hosts Australia's international matches when they play in Hobart. No first-class cricket has been played at the TCA Ground since 1987. It currently hosts Hobart Football Club (SFL) and DOSA Football Club (Old Scholars FA) Australian Rules football matches each Winter and North Hobart Cricket Club matches in TCA cricket each Summer.

Glebe is a suburb of Hobart, capital city of Tasmania, Australia. The suburb is a very small area adjacent to the city on the same part of land as the Queens Domain, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the Hobart Aquatic Centre. At the 2016 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 554.Glebe is a small suburb in comparison to some in Hobart. On the north and east sides, the suburb is surrounded by the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Brooker Avenue marks the western boundary of the suburb, while the Tasman Highway marks the southern side. The Glebe contains some examples of Victorian and Federation Style wooden terraced houses, some of which are up to 4 storeys high and tower over the Brooker Avenue impressively. Glebe was the birthplace and early home of brothers Ernest, Tasman and Arthur Higgins, all of whom became pioneering cinematographers of Australian cinema during the silent era.

The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG), which cover an area of approximately 14 hectares (34.6 acres), in Hobart located within the Queens Domain.

The 2019 Hobart International was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 26th edition of the Hobart International and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2019 WTA Tour. It took place at the Hobart International Tennis Centre in Hobart, Australia from 7 to 12 January 2019. The singles was won by unseeded American Sofia Kenin who took home her first WTA title after defeating Anna Karolína Schmiedlová from Slovakia in straight sets. In the doubles it was Taiwanese pair in Chan Hao-ching and Latisha Chan who won in three sets over their opponents in Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson.

The Domain Tennis Centre is the premier tennis facility in the state of Tasmania, Australia. It is located on the Queens Domain less than 1 kilometre from the CBD of Hobart. The Hobart International Tennis Centre has 6 plexicushion hardcourts, 7 synthetic grass courts, and 5 clay courts, all of which are of top international standard. The centre also features a pro shop, bar and clubhouse with over 800 members. The Club hosts training and junior development, as well as regular competition ranging from weekly matches to the Tasmanian Junior Masters and Tasmanian Junior Open, and the more glamorous Moorilla Hobart International, part of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, with over $US145,000 in prize money, and recently having featured former world number ones Kim Clijsters (2000 Champion), Serena Williams and Justine Henin, and also other top players such as Patty Schnyder (1998 Champion), Alicia Molik (2003 Champion), American veteran Amy Frazier (2004 Champion) and Australian Open and Wimbledon semifinalist Zheng Jie (2005 Champion).

The Hobart Zoo (also known as Beaumaris Zoo) was an old-fashioned zoological garden located on the Queen's Domain in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The Zoo site is very close to the site of the Tasmanian Governor's House, and the Botanical Gardens. Although its location is now primarily the site of a Hobart City Council depot, some remnants and archaeological remains of the original Zoo can still be seen. The Zoo was set in the surrounds of sweeping gardens, and had commanding views across the River Derwent.
