Goldbach-Altenbach

Château de Freundstein is a ruined castle in the commune of Goldbach-Altenbach, in the department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. It is a listed historical monument since 1922.

The Grand Ballon (German: Großer Belchen) or Great Belchen is the highest mountain of the Vosges, located 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of Mulhouse, France. It is also the highest point of the Grand-Est French region.

Bitschwiller-lès-Thann (French pronunciation: ​[bitʃvilɛʁ lɛ tan], literally Bitschwiller near Thann; German: Bitschweiler) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.The town lies in the Thur River Valley near the Vosges mountains.

The arrondissement of Thann is a former arrondissement of France in the Haut-Rhin department in the Alsace region. In 2015 it was disbanded, and most of its communes were assigned to the new arrondissement of Thann-Guebwiller, some to the arrondissements of Mulhouse and Altkirch. It had 52 communes, and its population was 81,614 (2012).

Hartmannswillerkopf, also known as the Vieil Armand (French) or Hartmannsweiler Kopf (German; English: Hartmansweiler Head) is a pyramidal rocky spur in the Vosges mountains of the Grand Est region, France. The peak stands at 956 metres (3,136 ft) overlooking the Rhine valley. At Hartmannswillerkopf stands a national monument of World War I for the fighting which took place in the trenches here.

Rimbach-près-Guebwiller (German: Rimbach bei Gebweiler) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

The Canton of Thann is a French former administrative division, located in the département of Haut-Rhin and the region Alsace. It had 20,403 inhabitants (2012). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. The canton comprised the following communes:

The Collégiale Saint-Thiébaut (Saint-Theobald collegiate church) in Thann, Haut-Rhin is one of the most ornate Gothic churches in the whole Upper Rhenish region (Alsace, Baden, North-Western Switzerland, Palatinate). Of its 76 meters high spire, it is said that "The spire of Strasbourg is the highest, the spire of Freiburg is the broadest but the spire of Thann is the prettiest." In spite of its name, the church is actually dedicated to Saint-Ubald, of which it keeps a finger as a relic. It is listed as a Monument historique since 1841 by the French Ministry of Culture.
