Golden East Crossing is a shopping mall in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States. Opened in 1986, the mall features Belk, Books-A-Million, Conn's, Dunham's Sports, J. C. Penney, and Ross Dress for Less. It is managed by Hendon Properties.

Rocky Mount is a city in Nash and Edgecombe counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The city's population was 54,341 as of the 2020 census, making it the 20th-most populous city in North Carolina at the time. The city is 45 mi (72 km) east of Raleigh, the state capital. It is the principal city of the Rocky Mount metropolitan area, often called the "Twin Counties"; in the 2020 census, the metro population was 143,870. Rocky Mount is also an anchor city of the Rocky Mount-Wilson-Roanoke Rapids, NC Combined Statistical Area in northeast North Carolina with a total population of 288,747 in 2020.English and Scots traders encountered the indigenous people in this area of the falls of the Tar River beginning in the mid-1700s. Incorporated in 1867, the community continued to develop through the 19th century based on agriculture (cotton and tobacco), manufacturing of textiles (made possible by the water power of the falls), and development of rail transportation to link the town to major markets. Since the late 20th century, the economy of Rocky Mount has diversified into biomedical pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and logistics. Rocky Mount has twice received the All-America City Award from the National Civic League: in 1969 and 1999.

Stonewall, also known as Lewis House and Little Falls Plantation, is a historic plantation house located near Rocky Mount, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built about 1830, and is a two-story, five-bay, Federal style brick dwelling. It sits on a raised basement and has a high hipped roof. The front facade features a pedimented Ionic order portico added in 1915.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Rocky Mount Mills, located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, was the second cotton mill constructed in the state of North Carolina, dating back to 1816. Capitol Broadcasting Company bought the 150-acre (61 ha) mills in the 2007 and has since redeveloped it into a mixed-use campus of breweries, restaurants, lofts, office, and event space.

The buildings primarily date between about 1835 and 1948, and include notable examples of Greek Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style residential architecture. The district includes the buildings previously listed as Rocky Mount Mills and includes the Colonel Benjamin D. Battle House (1835). Other notable buildings include the mill village community house (1918) and a variety of one- and two-story frame mill worker houses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

West Haven Historic District is a national historic district located at Rocky Mount, Nash County, North Carolina. It encompasses 181 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites in a residential section of Rocky Mount. The buildings primarily date between about 1928 and 1952, and include notable examples of Renaissance Revival, Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival style residential architecture. Notable buildings include the Robert D. Gorham residence (1928), H. Alex Easley House (1934), Leon Epstein house (1928), and Thomas Pearsall House (1933).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Nash UNC Health Care, opened in 1971 as Nash General Hospital, is a general hospital located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. It was the first all-private-room hospital in North Carolina. It is home to a women's center, a cardiovascular services department, and a critical care unit. A subunit of the hospital, known as Nash Day Hospital, opened in 1984 as a free-standing outpatient surgery center. The hospital also operates the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center in honor of Kinston, North Carolina native Bryant T. Aldridge, the first manager of Nash General, which opened in 1999, and the Coastal Plain Hospital, a mental health facility. In 2004, the hospital opened a state-of-the-art Surgery Pavilion, followed in 2014 by the opening of a new Emergency Department and a new Nash Heart Center. In 2014, Nash Health Care became affiliates with UNC Health Care. In May 2016, the hospital opened the doors of its new $25 million Nash Women's Center.Nash is a member of the UNC Health Care system, a non-profit integrated health care system, owned by the state of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The Rocky Mount Sports Complex is a large-scale sports complex located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. A division of the City of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department, the Rocky Mount Sports Complex provides facilities for city recreational programs such as baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and football. The 143-acre (0.58 km2) park on Centura Blvd. includes: 6 Youth Baseball Fields 4 Softball Fields A Championship Baseball Field 2 Basketball Courts Restrooms/Concession Buildings A Baseball Training Ground Walking Trails Playgrounds and a Sprayground 8 Championship Soccer Fields (Currently Under Construction)The Rocky Mount Sports Complex is one of the largest sports complexes on the eastern seaboard. During weekdays the fields will be used by Parks and Recreation Department city Athletics Programs. On weekends the Sports Complex will host tournament action, bringing some of the best local, state and national sports teams to the area. Adjacent to the Rocky Mount Sports Complex sits the 5,000-seat multi-use Rocky Mount Athletic Complex. The Football Stadium is also called home to the Rocky Mount High School Football Team. Div. II Elizabeth City State University also plays football annually in the Down East Viking Classic at the facility.

Notable buildings include the Lyon-Looney House (c. 1908), T.B. Bunn House (c. 1905), Thorpe-Gay House (early 1900s), William E. Fenner House (c. 1914), Whitehead House (1923), R. H. Gregory House (1950), and the Wilkinson School (1923).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
