The Tainan Film Center (traditional Chinese: 臺南市南門電影書院; simplified Chinese: 台南市南门电影书院; pinyin: Táinán Shì Nánmén Diànyǐng Shūyuàn) is a movie theater in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. The center is operated by the College of Sound and Image Arts of Tainan National University of the Arts.

The National Tainan Girls' Senior High School (Chinese: 國立臺南女子高級中學) is a public senior high school in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. It was established in 1917 and is considered one of the most prestigious high schools in Taiwan, usually only accepting students who rank in the top 3 percentile of the Taiwan Basic Scholastic Test.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL; Chinese: 國立臺灣文學館; pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Wénxuéguǎn) is a museum under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of China (Taiwan), located in Tainan, Republic of China (Taiwan). The museum researches, catalogs, preserves, and exhibits literary artifacts, and is also the first national literature museum in Taiwan. As part of its multilingual, multi-ethnic focus, it holds a large collection of local works in Taiwanese, Japanese, Mandarin and Classical Chinese. It was planned as a national-level organization to fill in a long-perceived gap in how the Republic of China's institutions had handled Taiwanese literature as a field of academic inquiry and popular discourse. Tainan was chosen for its historical significance as a cultural center. As of May 2023, it houses a collection of approximately 130,000 items. Formerly the Tainan Prefectural Hall, the museum was repurposed as the venue for the National Museum of Taiwan Literature in Jan. 2003, marking an important case of "historical building reuse" in official architecture in Taiwan. On November 10 of the same year, it was officially designated as a national historic site.

The Temple of the Five Concubines (Chinese: 五妃廟; pinyin: Wǔ Fēi Miào), known also by alternative names including the Temple of the Five Noble Ladies, is a temple in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. It was built in front of the tomb of the five concubines of Zhu Shugui, the Ming Prince of Ningjing, who killed themselves in 1683 to accompany him in death. It is registered as a first-class historic site by the Republic of China government.In 1683, the Qing Dynasty forces invaded Taiwan and defeated the Kingdom of Tungning, prompting Zhu Shugui to commit suicide. Rather than be left to an uncertain and inglorious fate in the hands of the Qing, the concubines elected to end their own lives as well. The names of the five concubines were Lady Yuan, Lady Wang, Xiugu, Sister Mei and Sister He; their full names are unknown.
