Schooley's Mountain

Flocktown Schoolhouse is located near the intersection of Flocktown and Naughright Roads in Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey. The schoolhouse was built c. 1869 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 30, 1982 for its significance in architecture and education.

Schooley's Mountain Historic District is a historic district along Schooley's Mountain, Pleasant Grove, and Flocktown Roads, and Heath Lane in the Schooley's Mountain section of Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 1991 for its significance in architecture, entertainment/recreation, and health/medicine. The district includes 71 contributing buildings, such as the Oak Cottage, site of schoolhouse No. 5, Schooley's Mountain Store, the William W. Marsh House, Christadelphian Bible Camp, the former Heath House Hotel, former Forest Grove Hydropathic Institute, Mine Hill Farm, the Marsh Mine and several private residences and commercial buildings.

WRNJ (1510 AM) is a commercial radio station in Hackettstown, New Jersey. It broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format and is owned locally by WRNJ Radio, Inc.By day, WRNJ is powered at 2,000 watts. But because AM 1510 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WLAC in Nashville, WRNJ must reduce power at night to 230 watts.

Schooley's Mountain is an unincorporated community located within Washington Township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Named for the Schooley family who owned a considerable amount of land there in the 1790s, the community is on Schooley's Mountain, a mountain with an elevation of about 1,000 feet (300 m) directly north of Long Valley. Located about 45 miles (72 km) from New York City, the community is situated 600 feet (180 m) above the surrounding valley. It contains many housing developments and Schooley's Mountain Park, a recreational area with an overlook, a waterfall, and numerous hiking paths, as well as Lake George. In its past, Schooley's Mountain was a resort and an estate. The earliest residents were the Lenape Native Americans, who called it home. The Vanderbilts were among the numerous New York City socialites who trekked to the mountain for its restorative waters. The rich chalybeate-infused waters were thought to improve health, and detoxify the system.Schooley's Mountain County Park offers active and passive recreation on 797 acres (3.23 km2). The park was acquired by the Morris County Parks Commission in 1969 and opened to the public in 1974.Schooley's Mountain General Store opened in 1803 and is the oldest continuously operating general store in the state as of 2023. Notable visitors include Ulysses S. Grant, William Henry Harrison, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Robert De Niro.

Oak Cottage is a historic home built around 1820 and located in the Schooley's Mountain section of Washington Township in Morris County, New Jersey. The property includes a mill and carriage house built in 1828 and is a contributing property to Schooley's Mountain Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Hackettstown High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Hackettstown in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Hackettstown School District. Hackettstown High School serves students from Hackettstown, along with those from the townships of Allamuchy, Independence and Liberty, who attend as part of sending/receiving relationships.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 869 students and 67.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.0:1. Hackettstown is a town in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is perhaps best known as the home to the US headquarters of Mars, Inc.. As of the 2020 United States census, the town's population was 10,248, an increase of 524 (+5.4%) from the 2010 census count of 9,724, which in turn reflected a decline of 679 (−6.5%) from the 10,403 counted in the 2000 census.Hackettstown was incorporated as a town by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 9, 1853, from portions of Independence Township. Portions of territory were exchanged with Mansfield Township in 1857, 1860, 1872 and 1875.

Stephens State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is 805 acres (3.26 km2) in area, located in western Morris County, north of Hackettstown along the upper Musconetcong River. The park is operated and maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. The park includes the remnants of one of the 23 locks, as well as a section of the towpath, of the Morris Canal, built in 1831 to transport anthracite coal from Pennsylvania to New York City. A 2 miles (3.2 km) section of the Highland Trail runs through the park. The park is a popular destination for recreational trout fishing. The park offers camping facilities during the summer months.

The Jacob C. Allen House is a historic building at 206 West Moore Street in Hackettstown, Warren County, New Jersey. It was built c. 1870 with a Second Empire architectural style. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in architecture on August 24, 2005.

Centenary University is a private university in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Founded as a preparatory school by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1867, Centenary evolved into a Junior College for women and later a coeducational four year University offering undergraduate, Master's level, and doctoral graduate programs.Situated in suburban Warren County, New Jersey, 52 miles west of New York City, 35 miles southeast of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and 26 miles northeast of Easton, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley, the school's main campus is identifiable by the Old Main building, now known as the Seay Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Stephens Homestead is a historic farmhouse located at 800 Willow Grove Road in Stephens State Park in Mount Olive Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Built around 1865, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 14, 2013, for its significance in agriculture and architecture.
