North Manchester General Hospital

Crumpsall Park is a small municipal park in the Crumpsall ward of Manchester, North West England. Originally planned as a cemetery, the plot was made into a recreational park in 1890 CE. The area in which the park is located was the site of the residence of the Chetham family - known as Crumpsall Hall - the earlier Crumpsall Old Hall was situated at the junction of Sandy Lane (now Crescent Road) and Cheetham Street, (now Humphrey Street) and this was the birthplace of Humphrey Chetham.The park has been awarded the Green Flag Award for recreational park excellence annually since 2005.A voluntary organisation known as the Friends of Crumpsall Park (FoCP) serves as a pressure group, events organiser and development monitor for the park, and works in liaison with Manchester City Council and other funding bodies.The main event of the year is the annual Crumpsall Carnival.

Blackley is a suburban area of Manchester, England. Historically in Lancashire, it is approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north of Manchester city centre, on the River Irk.

Abraham Moss Community School is a coeducational all-through school located on a 19-hectare (47-acre) site situated on Crescent Road in the Crumpsall/Cheetham Hill district of North Manchester adjacent to the Abraham Moss Metrolink station. The complex also includes a leisure centre, the district library and a 230-person theatre complex. The centre also hosts other tenants mainly in the public, voluntary and community sectors. It is named after Abraham Moss, Lord Mayor of Manchester (1953–54).

Abraham Moss is a tram stop in the suburban area of Cheetham Hill, Greater Manchester, England. It is on the Bury Line of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. The station gained funding approval in 2010 and replaced nearby Woodlands Road stop. It is close to the local library and college campus. The planning application for the station was lodged June 2010. Construction began on 18 October 2010 and the station became operational on 18 April 2011.

Crumpsall is an outer suburb and electoral ward of Manchester, England, 3 miles (5 km) north of Manchester city centre, bordered by Cheetham Hill, Blackley, Harpurhey, Broughton, and Prestwich. The population at the 2011 census was 15,959. Historically part of Lancashire, Crumpsall was a township within the parish of Manchester, Salford Hundred. North Manchester General Hospital is in Crumpsall.

Woodlands Road was a tram stop on the Bury Line of the Metrolink system in the Cheetham Hill area of north Manchester, England. It opened in 1913 as a heavy rail station and closed for conversion to light rail in 1991, opening with the new Metrolink system in 1992. Woodlands Road was the closest station to the Manchester Museum of Transport on Boyle Street. Two new stations opened nearby, (Abraham Moss and Queens Road), which led to the closure of the stop on 16 December 2013.

Co-op Academy Manchester, formerly known as The Co-operative Academy of Manchester is a non-selective, mixed secondary school in Blackley, Manchester. It opened in September 2010 and replaced Plant Hill Arts College. The academy is part of The Co-operative Academies Trust - a group of schools sponsored by The Co-operative Group. The values of the academy are Fairness, Ambition and Respect. The school has a business-focused ethos, backed up by the support of its lead sponsor and features of the new building such as the open-plan flexible learning zones and the boardroom. The academy's first Principal, Kathy Leaver, was appointed to transform the former Plant Hill school following her dramatic success as head of Sale High School.In July 2011 students from the Academy took part in the chorus of Victoria Wood's "That Day We Sang", part of the Manchester International Festival.In 2013 the Manchester Evening News recognised the effort of the retiring Principal Kathy Leaver, her team and parents in transforming the academy, whose results were the most improved in the city. The paper also recognised the academy's achievement in 2014 of the highest attendance rate of the city's state schools.Stephen Brice took up the position of Principal in April 2014.In late 2015, the academy opened The Hive - a business and enterprise centre. The Hive, which was formerly an unused Adult Education Centre contains a number of office pods available for small businesses or start-ups to rent. In addition, The Hive is also used by Yes Manchester who help local residents into work or training.In 2018, a new £18 million extension opened, which increased the capacity of the academy and created new facilities. In 2020, Principal Stephen Brice was appointed as Executive Headteacher for Greater Manchester, working across a number of schools in the Trust. Christopher Beard took up the role of Headteacher. Before taking on his new role, Brice created a Minecraft version of the academy to help people familiarise themselves with the building during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom.

The Church of St Peter in Old Market Street, Blackley, Manchester, England, is a Gothic Revival church of 1844 by E. H. Shellard. It was a Commissioners' church erected at a cost of £3162. The church is particularly notable for an almost completely intact interior. It was designated a Grade II* listed building on 20 June 1988.The church is of "coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings". The nave has buttresses and "clumsy" pinnacles and ends in a "blunt" west tower. The interior is aisled and "particularly impressive for its complete (nineteenth century) interior with the extremely unusual survival of all the fine boxes and other pews".The churchyard contains the war graves of ten service personnel of World War I and seven of World War II.

Plant Hill Arts College (formally Plant Hill High School) was an 11-16 community school, serving boys and girls predominantly from the suburb of Blackley, Manchester. The school had approximately 820 pupils on roll before it was replaced by the Co-operative Academy of Manchester. The school was in close proximity to the M60 motorway affording it excellent links, by road, to a wide area. It was also well served by public transport.

Blackley Cemetery is a large, municipal cemetery situated within the northern suburbs of the city of Manchester, and is owned, operated and maintained by Manchester City Council. The cemetery and crematorium complex is located on Victoria Avenue in the district of Blackley. It was opened in 1953 on land that was previously a golf course.The cemetery contains Blackley Crematorium, the only crematorium facility operated by Manchester City Council (the other crematorium in the city, the Manchester Crematorium at Southern Cemetery, being an independent company), opened in 1959. The crematorium features 3 chapels – one large, central chapel, with twinned smaller chapels to the eastern and western sides of the building. The crematory area of the crematorium is equipped with 3 'Newton'-model cremators, installed by the Furnace Construction Co. Ltd. of Hyde, Cheshire. The cemetery was, at one time, well known for having problems with drainage, with surface water being problematic during burials and visitation to grave sites. The city has worked to rectify this situation in recent years, with the installation of ground drainage schemes being completed in 2009. The ground drainage scheme has opened up new areas for the opening of new graves, in parts of the cemetery that were originally thought to be unusable. A currently unused area of the cemetery is to be developed into a Natural Burial area. This project is currently in the planning and problem-solving stage, and it is as yet unknown when the new burial area will be opened for use.

Smedley is an area of north Manchester, England, on the banks of the River Irk between Cheetham Hill to the west, Collyhurst to the south, Crumpsall to the north and Harpurhey to the east.In 1819, Samuel Bamford and Henry Hunt stopped at Smedley Cottage, before the Peterloo Massacre, and the Middleton contingent to the demonstration passed by it on their way into Manchester via Collyhurst Road. In the novel The Manchester Man by Isabella Banks, the titular character, Jabez Clegg, is swept in infancy into the River Irk at Smedley Vale. Theresa Yelverton, a party to the Yelverton case, lived as a child at Merryfield House, at the corner of Queens Road and Smedley Road, overlooking the Irk Valley.In the early 1930s, Kennet House, a development of modernist flats, was built in Smedley. In 2019, a new footbridge across the Irk opened, linking Smedley to Collyhurst.
