Weiskirchen is a municipality in the district Merzig-Wadern, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated in the Hunsrück, approx. 20 km northeast of Merzig, and 25 km southeast of Trier.

The Lehbach, in its upper reaches also called Spalbach, is a right-hand tributary of the Ruwer in the county of Trier-Saarburg in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It has a length of 6.602 kilometres (4.102 mi), a catchment area of 12.794 square kilometres (4.940 sq mi). Its GKZ is 26562. It rises in the highlands of the Osburger Hochwald at the foot of the Rösterkopf mountain and, together with the 3.205-kilometre-long (1.991 mi) Ellersbach (also Kreidbach), in whose source region is a raised bog, impounded to form the Keller Reservoir. The Lehbach lies within the Naturschutzgebiet (nature reserve) of Keller Mulde and discharges near Niederkell into the Ruwer.

Kell am See is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated in the Hunsrück, approx. 20 km southeast of Trier. Kell am See was the seat of the former Kell am See Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality"). Until 2013, there was a yearly festival in Kell which is called Highway To Kell.

Schillingen is a municipality in the Trier-Saarburg district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

The Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park (German: Naturpark Saar-Hunsrück) was established in 1980 and covers an area of just under 2,000 km² in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland. The authority responsible for the nature park is the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park Society (Verein Naturpark Saar-Hunsrück) with its headquarters in Hermeskeil. In Hermeskeil the society runs an "experience museum" and one of six information centres.

Wadrilltal is a quarter (Stadtteil) of the town Wadern, in Merzig-Wadern district, Saarland, in the south-west of Germany. It is situated on the small river Wadrill. Wadrilltal is known for its large forests and for its hiking trails.

The Osburger Hochwald ("Osburg Upland Forest") lies southeast of the Osburger Hunsrück and has an area of 75 square kilometres. Together with the Schwarzwälder Hochwald, it forms the Hochwald or "upland forest" of the Hunsrück, the southwestern part of the Rhenish Massif in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The area belongs to the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. Northeast of the Hochwald are the Idar Forest and Soonwald. At the foot of the Rösterkopf rises the River Ruwer, a right tributary of the Moselle. The watershed between the Moselle (Feller Bach and Ruwer) and the Saar (Wadrill/Prims) runs through the Osburger Hochwald. The B 52 federal road and A 1 motorway, as well as several local, county and state roads, run through the forest. There are rescue points for the emergency services at various prominent places in the forest. The Hohwäller dialect of the area is part of the Moselle Franconian dialect group.
