Poulton-le-Fylde

The Teanlowe Centre is a shopping centre in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. Completed in 1974, it is bounded by Tithebarn Street to the north, Church Street to the east, Blackpool Old Road (the B5267) to the south and Queensway (also the B5267) to the west. Its name is derived from Halloween festival (Teanlay) that took place on the site in mediaeval times. The name was chosen by a student from Poulton's Hodgson High School. There are three entrances to the Teanlowe Centre: one from the Tithebarn Street and Queensway car park, one from Blackpool Old Road and one from Church Street.

The Old Town Hall is a building on Church Street in the market town of Poulton-le-Fylde in Lancashire, England. The building, which is located just beyond the northern end of Market Place, started life as a public house before becoming a municipal building and then reverting to use as a public house.

The Bull is a public house on Blackpool Old Road in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. The original pub, named The Black Bull Inn, was built in the 19th century and gave its name to the street on which it stood. Bull Street was renamed Blackpool Old Road in the 20th century. The pub was rebuilt in 1963.Poulton Freemasons originally met at The Bull, prior to moving to a purpose-built location in Market Place in 1900.

Erected in 1921, the Poulton-le-Fylde War Memorial is located in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. A Grade II listed structure, it stands in a small cobbled area at the north end of Market Place, having been moved from nearby Queen’s Square in 1979. Made of granite, it consists of a pillar with an octagonal foot, and a ball finial surmounted by a wheel-head cross. The pillar is on a square plinth on an octagonal step. On the plinth is a timber plaque with a coat of arms, a bronze plaque with an inscription, and further plaques recording the names of those lost in the World Wars and another conflict.

The Golden Ball is a public house and hotel on Ball Street in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. Built in the 19th century, it was originally a coaching inn for travellers making their way to local towns and villages. As of 2023, the three-storey building is owned by Greene King. It was formerly a Tetley's establishment. In 1847, the building's billiard room hosted the first county court session in the town.During the course of its existence, the building has been a police courtroom, a newsroom and a café.Beginning in 1897, an auction mart occupied the land behind the building, formerly the pub's gardens, until it was replaced by today's car park. It featured a bull ring and a calf ring. Some of the walls of the auction mart are still standing, with the rings for the tethering of bulls still attached. The Auction Market Company folded in 1964, and some of its buildings became shops — including Gleeson's Joiners, The Victorian Birdcage, The Paper Tree and a charity shop. These were demolished in 2006. Tom Lockwood, landlord of the pub in the 19th century, formed Catterall & Swarbrick Brewery Ltd. in 1880 with fellow locals William Catterall and John Swarbrick.The pub is one of 32 buildings in the town's Conservation Area.Ball Street is named for the pub.

Poulton-le-Fylde Market Cross, in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, was likely erected in the 17th century. Standing at the southern end of Market Place, it is a Grade II listed structure.It is a Tuscan column constructed of stone, consisting of three tapered cylinders on a square pedestal, which in turn sits on a circular plinth of four steps. On top of the cylinders is a ball finial with a cross. The cross is similar to those at Kirkland and Garstang and is situated between the stocks and the fish stones.

2 Market Place is a Grade II listed building in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. Built in the late 17th or early 18th century, it stands immediately to the south of St Chad's Church, itself Grade II* listed and dating to the 17th century, in the northeastern corner of Market Place. It was formerly a custom house, later a residence. It is constructed of rendered brick with a slate roof. It is built on two storeys and originally had three bays. In the loft there is visible heavy timber framing including a roof truss between the second and third bays. The building now functions as a shop. The building's southern facade forms part of the entrance to the narrow The Mews alley of shops and businesses which connects to Chapel Street.

St Chad's Church is an Anglican church in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. It is an active parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn and the archdeaconry of Lancaster. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. A church on the site was built no later than the 11th century and may have existed prior to the Norman conquest of England. The tower dates from the 17th century, and much of the remainder of the building from a major renovation in the 18th century, although some of the fabric of the original structure remains. Further renovation and additions took place in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Soon after the Norman conquest, Poulton was granted to Lancaster Priory. In the 15th century, the church was given by Henry V to Syon Monastery in Middlesex. It returned to the Crown following the Dissolution of the Monasteries and from the 16th to the 20th century, the advowson (the right to appoint a parish priest)A belonged to the Hesketh/Fleetwood family. The red sandstone building is faced with grey ashlar and consists of a nave, chancel, square tower and a Norman-style apse. Its furnishings include a Georgian staircase, a Jacobean pulpit, box pews and hatchments. There are eight bells in the tower. Outside the church are the remains of a stone preaching cross.

The White House is an historic building in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. It has been designated a Grade II listed building by Historic England. The property is located in Queen's Square, around 250 feet (76 m) to the southeast of the town centre and Market Place. A town house, with the ground floor now occupied by businesses, it was built in the mid-18th century, constructed of rendered brick with a cornice gutter and a slate roof. It is on a double-pile plan with three storeys. It has five bays and the first-floor casement windows are tall with glazing bars; the second-floor windows are smaller. The front entrance to the building is flanked by Doric pilasters.The White House was an early home of chaplain Harry Viener.

The Thatched House is a public house on Ball Street in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. A former coaching inn, it stands adjacent to the churchyard of St Chad's, at the corner of Chapel Street. A tavern, believed to have been called the Green Man, was on the site in 1793, and may have been built in the Middle Ages.The pub, which is owned by Mitchells & Butlers, was named Campaign for Real Ale's branch Pub of the Year in 2016.In 2019, the pub was refurbished, including the addition of a roof terrace and an improvement to the pub's Chapel Street Brew House microbrewing facility, which was started in 2014. It is housed in the building's old coaching sheds.Today's building was completed in 1907, replacing an earlier structure which was oriented facing Chapel Street. Nicholas Charnock was the first landlord of the new construction.The pub is one of 32 buildings in the town's Conservation Area.

Poulton Curve was a halt on the Fleetwood-to-Blackpool railway line in Lancashire, England. On 1 July 1899 a new curve was opened at Poulton-le-Fylde to complete the triangle of lines between Kirkham, Fleetwood and Blackpool. Poulton Curve Halt was opened on this section on 1 February 1909. It closed on 1 July 1952.

1 Vicarage Road is a Grade II listed building in the English market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. Built in 1839, it stands at the corner of Vicarage Road and Breck Road, directly across the latter from the Thatched House public house. Now an estate agent, the building was originally Poulton Savings Bank. It was the town's library in the 1880s.It is symmetrical, constructed of brick with stone dressings and a concrete tile roof. The front entrance is a stone doorway with a depressed-arch head and a radiating fanlight. The building is of two storeys. At the front there are two sash windows on the ground floor and three on the first, each with a stone windowsill and hood mould. There are a further two windows on each end. The right gable (looking from the front) has a stone plaque which is inscribed with "Poulton Savings Bank 1839".
