Kristiansand Stadion

The Otra is the largest river in the Sørlandet region of Norway. It begins in Setesdalsheiene mountains at the lake Breidvatnet in Bykle municipality in Agder county, just south of the border with Vinje municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county. The river then flows south through Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Evje og Hornnes, Iveland, Vennesla, and Kristiansand municipalities. The river empties into the Skagerrak in the center of the city of Kristiansand on the southern coast of Norway. The Otra is 245 kilometres (152 mi) long, making it Norway's eighth-longest river. There are many large lakes along the river including: Åraksfjorden, Byglandsfjorden, Hartevatnet, and Kilefjorden. There are 12 hydroelectric power plants built along the river, which produce much of the electricity for the southern part of Norway.The salmon do well in the Otra river because the water is not too acidic. The calcareous rocks in the catchment area at the northern end of the Setesdal valley give the water a certain buffer capacity against acidification.

Sparebanken Sør Arena ("South Arena") is a football stadium located at Torsvika in Kristiansand, Norway. The all-seater has a capacity of 14,563 people, and serves as the home ground of Tippeligaen side IK Start. It was designed by Kjell Kosberg, and is architecturally similar to Aker Stadion. The venue has seen concerts by Elton John, Dolly Parton and A-ha, among others.. UEFA refers to the stadium as Kristiansand Arena. Construction started in 2006, and the stadium opened on 15 April 2007, replacing Kristiansand Stadion as Start's home ground. The venue cost 400 million Norwegian krone (NOK), of which the stadium itself cost NOK 250 million, after significant cost overruns. While originally planned with artificial turf, the venue was ultimately built with a natural grass pitch. The venue and the holding company Start Stadion were taken over by Sparebanken Sør, the main creditor, in 2008. They subsequently also took over Start Toppfotball, the company running the club. Both companies were sold to Ernst Ravnaas in 2009. Following decreased attendance, ahead of the 2011 season the seating on the corners was sold as advertisement space and the maximum capacity has artificially been reduced to 11,700.

Marvika or Marvik is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The neighbourhood is located in the southeast part of the borough of Lund and the district of Gimlekollen. The neighborhood of Oddemarka lies to the northwest of Marvika.Marvika was formerly the site of the Norwegian naval base Marvika orlogsstasjon as well as the Gleodden cannon battery which was subordinate to the nearby Odderøya Fortress. Sør Arena, the current football stadium for IK Start, is located in the former military area. The name Marvika comes from the Marviksbukta cove along the Topdalsfjorden, which is a popular place in the summer for residents and tourists. There is also a large shore at Marviksbukta. The possibility of installing summer cooling equipment for the IK Start stadium using cool deep water from the Marviksbukta is being investigated.There is one elementary school at Marvika, Frank Wild memorial school. Marvika is mostly located with large white houses. There is an industrial park at Marvika serving most of Lund with a range of retail stores and other local services. The buildings along the port still bear the stamp of the time when it served as a naval base. Marvika Navy Base was closed down on 1 August 2002. However, the buildings today contain offices for different cultural institutions and a base for rescue services.

Lund Church (Norwegian: Lund kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Lund in the borough of Lund near the central part of the city of Kristiansand. It is the church for the Lund parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, brick church was built in a hexagonal design in 1987 using plans drawn up by the architects J. Landsverk and Nordbø. The church seats about 360 people.

Oddemarka is a neighborhood in the city of Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lund. The European route E18 highway passes by the neighborhood on the north side. The neighborhood of Presteheia lies to the north of Oddemarka, Kjøita lies to the west, and Marvika lies to the south. Oddemarka school is located in the neighborhood.The population is about 200 inhabitants.

Tangen is a pier and neighborhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is a part of the Kvadraturen (Kristiansand)|Kvadraturen borough and is mostly populated with new apartments, there is one high school with the pier and Tangen is next to the beach Bystranda. The main quarter for NRK Southern Norway is located at Tangen.

Tangen Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Tangen videregående skole) is a public school in Kristiansand, Norway. It has around 1200 students and 250 employees.

Lund is a borough and district in the city of Kristiansand which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is the second largest borough in the city after Vågsbygd. In 2015, the population was about 30,000. Lund is divided into 4 districts: Lund (centrum), Gimlekollen, Justvik, and Ålefjær. Lund lies to the north and west of Topdalsfjorden-Ålefjærfjorden and to the East of the river Otra. The borough of Oddernes lies to the east and the boroughs of Kvadraturen and Grim lie to the west. North of the borough is the municipality of Vennesla. The University of Agder is located at Lund along with Kristiansand Cathedral School. The Church of Norway has three churches in Lund: Lund Church, Justvik Church, and Oddernes Church. Oddernes Church was one of the first churches to be built in Kristiansand. There are three bridges connecting Lund to the city center Kvadraturen: "Lundsbroa", "Oddernesbrua" and "Christian Quartbroa". Before Oddernesbrua was built, the Lundsbroa was the main way to the east. Today, the Oddernesbrua is a part of the European route E18 highway, and the bridge ends in a tunnel. The Lundsbroa is a part of Fylkesvei 471, which eventually joins up with the E18. The recently opened Christian Quartbroa footbridge is located between the other two bridge connections. Public transportation is available by bus, all local buses headed eastbound have more than one stop at Lund. There are also buses that go "deeper" into Lund. Line 13 Grimsmyra-Lund goes to Kuholmen in Lund, a place south of Lund, while Line 19 Suldalen-Lund UiA, follows Riksvei 471 to the University.

Bystranda (The City Beach) is a Blue Flag beach in the southeastern part of the downtown of the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located just east of the mouth of the river Otra. The shallow sandy beach by the Kristiansand Boardwalk consists of fine filled sand. By Bystranda there are seating areas, bathrobes stairs, sand volleyball court, skate ramp, playground, and restrooms. At the plant of the bathing beach was emphasized that it should be accessible to children and the disabled. Bystranda is popular on hot summer days. Close to Bystranda is the indoor water park Aquarama.

Kristiansand Naval Air Station (Norwegian: Marinens flystasjon Kristiansand) was a water military air base operated by the Royal Norwegian Navy Air Service between 1919 and 1940. Situated at Tangen in the city center of Kristiansand, Norway, it consisted of three hangars. The station was to house both reconnaissance and fighter aircraft.

The Oddernes stone (Oddernessteinen) is a rune stone from Oddernes Church at Oddernes in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder, Norway. The stone was originally just in the church yard east of the church. In 1990 it was moved into the church porch.

Oddernes Church (Norwegian: Oddernes kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Lund in the borough of Lund in the city of Kristiansand. It is one of the churches for the Oddernes parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built in a long church design around the year 1040 using plans drawn up by unknown architect. This makes it the oldest building in the city of Kristiansand. The church seats about 395 people.The chancel has rubble walls and a semi-circular apse, testifying to the church's medieval origins. The newer additions such as the tower are made out of wood. The church was the main church for the old municipality of Oddernes which existed from 1838 until 1965. North of the church is a parish house.
