Star Swamp Bushland Reserve is a bushland reserve occupying about half of the land area of the suburbs of Watermans Bay and North Beach in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. The precise origin of the name is unknown, but the earliest known use of the name was on a lease application by J.H.Okely of Wanneroo in 1868.In 1987, the State Government set aside 96 hectares (240 acres) as an A-class reserve, and funding from the Bicentennial Commemorative Program and assistance from local organisations facilitated the establishment of the Star Swamp Heritage Trail within the reserve. Star Swamp contains a history trail that spans a 1.4 km (0.87 mi) walk. The trail contains ten points of interest, each marked with a plaque and sign.Star Swamp has been the site of many bushfires. The most recent occurred on 21 March 2023 and burnt approximately 6.5 hectares of the 96 hectare A-class reserve. The fire was believed to be deliberately lit.

Sacred Heart College is an Australian independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school located in the northern Perth suburb of Sorrento, Western Australia. Established in 1967, the school provides a religious and general education to approximately 1,400 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The college is situated on 8 hectares (20 acres) overlooking both the Indian Ocean and Hillary's Boat Harbour. Facilities include extensive playing fields, hard courts for many sports, a performing arts centre, science labs, computer labs, gymnasium and specialised rooms for engineering, wood and art.

St Stephen's School is a K-12, co-educational independent, day school of the Uniting Church located on two campuses – one in Duncraig and the other in Carramar, two suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. The school is one of Western Australia's largest independent schools. The Duncraig campus opened in 1983 for Year 3 to Year 12 and the Carramar campus in Tapping opened in 2001 for Kindergarten to Year 12. In 2011 the school opened the new Early Learning Centre (ELC) in Hepburn Heights (across the road from the Duncraig campus) for Kindergarten to Year 2, introducing a Pre-Kindergarten, that takes place on Wednesdays, in the mid 2010s. The school also owns a 115-acre property, the Nanga Outdoor Education Facility, consisting of bushland, field, forest and 800 metres of Murray River frontage. The property is used for school camps and retreats, leadership development and team building activities.
