The Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools is a public school district that provides a network of high schools serving the vocational and technical education needs of students in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The district was the first county vocational school system in the United States. The district serves high school, adult, and special needs students. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of six schools, had an enrollment of 2,100 students and 176.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1.The high school campuses in the district are located in East Brunswick Township, Edison, Perth Amboy, Piscataway and Woodbridge Township.

East Spotswood is an unincorporated community located within the borough of Spotswood in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Spotswood's East Spotswood Park and trackside memorial for the Camden and Amboy Railroad are located here. It had a passenger and freight station on the Pennsylvania Railroad, the United New Jersey Railroad and Canal Company subsidiary, which runs through the community.

Old Bridge, also known as the Historic Village of Old Bridge, is an unincorporated community located within East Brunswick in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is on the South River, a tributary of the Raritan River. The community is named after the first bridge built here to cross the river, the South River Bridge. After other bridges were built crossing the river, it became known as the Old Bridge. The Old Bridge Historic District, encompassing much of the village, is listed on the state and national registers of historic places.

Orchard Heights is an unincorporated community located within East Brunswick Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The area is part of a suburban residential neighborhood between Milltown and Dunhams Corner Roads (County Route 535) interchange with New Jersey Route 18. Near the area includes two schools (one elementary school and East Brunswick High School), churches, and St. Mary's Cemetery. The subdivision was planned and built in about 1954.

Duhernal Lake is a lake in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The lake is currently formed at the confluence of the South River, Matchaponix Bay and the outflow of Devoe Lake. It currently forms the border between the towns of Spotswood and Old Bridge. The lake is eutrophic. It receives most of its water from the tributary Matchaponix Brook and Devoe Lake. Most of the water flows out to the South River. The lake is a popular fishing site. Fish found in the lake include brown bullhead, bluegill sunfish and largemouth bass.The lake is co-owned by the DuPont company, Ashland Inc., and the Borough of Sayreville. DuPont, together with the Hercules and National Lead corporations, created the lake in the 1930s by partially damming the South River.

South River is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 16,008, reflecting an increase of 686 (+4.5%) from the 15,322 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,630 (+11.9%) from the 13,692 counted in the 1990 Census.What is now South River was originally formed as the town of Washington within East Brunswick Township on February 23, 1870. South River was incorporated as an independent borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 28, 1898, replacing Washington town. It was named after the South River, which marks the borough's eastern and northeastern boundary.
