Datunludong station (simplified Chinese: 大屯路东站; traditional Chinese: 大屯路東站; pinyin: Dàtúnlù Dōng Zhàn) is an interchange station of Line 5 and Line 15 on the Beijing Subway.

The Museum of Tibetan Culture (Chinese: 西藏文化博物馆), or Tibet Cultural Museum, adjacent to the North Fourth Ring Road in Beijing, China, was built with a 160 million RMB investment from the State Council of China. Established in 1988, it is affiliated with the China Association for Science and Technology.The museum is "the only comprehensive museum of science and technology at national level in China," according to the official website of the Beijing government.

On October 20, 2013, the 10-year management contract between Beijing Beichen Industrial Co., Ltd. and InterContinental Hotel Group expired. On October 21, 2013, Crowne Plaza Beijing Wuzhou changed its name to Crown International Hotel Beijing Wuzhou, which means that the owner of the hotel, Beijing Beichen Industrial Co., Ltd., will independently manage the hotel. During the 2014 China APEC Summit, the hotel was one of the hotels recommended by the host to journalists.

Senlin Gongyuan Nanmen (Forest Park South Gate) station (simplified Chinese: 森林公园南门站; traditional Chinese: 森林公園南門站; pinyin: Sēnlín Gōngyuán Nánmén zhàn) is a station on Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. It is located at the south entrance to the Olympic Forest Park.

The 2008 Summer Olympics cauldron is the Olympic flame holder that was used during the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. It was first lit on August 8, 2008, as part of the opening ceremony of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad and last extinguished as part of the closing ceremony of the games of the Paralympics on September 17. Originally located on the inside roof of the Beijing National Stadium, it was relocated to outside the stadium on the Olympic Green following the completion of the Games.

The Beijing Olympic Tower (Chinese: 北京奥林匹克塔; pinyin: Běijīng Àolínpǐkè Tǎ) is located on Kehui South Road, part of the Olympic Green in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, China. Construction began in 2011, three years after the 2008 Summer Olympics; it was completed in 2014, and opened on August 8, 2015. It is used strictly for observation; there is no provision for offices or apartments. The design was by a Chinese firm, China Architecture Design & Research Group; a Shenzhen architect alleged that the architects at the firm had plagiarized an award-winning earlier design of his.At 258 metres (846 ft) in height it is the second tallest tower in the city after the Central Radio & TV Tower, and the fourth-tallest structure in the city. Its design, with four smaller circular floors at different heights and positions below a larger top floor, is meant to echo the Olympic rings. The overall design was inspired by blades of grass; however it has also been likened to "huge nails".

The women's shot put at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 22 August.The championship suffered a little with the failure of Valerie Adams to return to defend her 2013 title following surgery over the winter. In the run-up to these championships Adams suffered the end of her 57 event winning streak a month earlier.In the finals, home favorite Gong Lijiao assumed the early lead with a 20.30 first put. On the third throw, Christina Schwanitz made 20.37 to take the lead. Gong had no answer and the rest of the field was too far behind, led by Michelle Carter's 19.76. Anita Márton threw a fourth round 19.48m national record to take fourth.
