The Beijing Olympic Tower (Chinese: 北京奥林匹克塔; pinyin: Běijīng Àolínpǐkè Tǎ) is located on Kehui South Road, part of the Olympic Green in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, China. Construction began in 2011, three years after the 2008 Summer Olympics; it was completed in 2014, and opened on August 8, 2015. It is used strictly for observation; there is no provision for offices or apartments. The design was by a Chinese firm, China Architecture Design & Research Group; a Shenzhen architect alleged that the architects at the firm had plagiarized an award-winning earlier design of his.At 258 metres (846 ft) in height it is the second tallest tower in the city after the Central Radio & TV Tower, and the fourth-tallest structure in the city. Its design, with four smaller circular floors at different heights and positions below a larger top floor, is meant to echo the Olympic rings. The overall design was inspired by blades of grass; however it has also been likened to "huge nails".

Senlin Gongyuan Nanmen (Forest Park South Gate) station (simplified Chinese: 森林公园南门站; traditional Chinese: 森林公園南門站; pinyin: Sēnlín Gōngyuán Nánmén zhàn) is a station on Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. It is located at the south entrance to the Olympic Forest Park.

The Olympic Green (Chinese: 奥林匹克森林公园; lit. 'Olympic Forest Park') is an Olympic Park in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The three main facilities there include the National Stadium (Bird's Nest), Water Cube, and National Indoor Stadium. Olympic Green was originally constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Paralympics. Since then, the streets around the park have been used for an exhibition street race of the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2011, after a race at Goldenport Park Circuit in the vicinity. It again served as an Olympic Park when Beijing hosted the 2022 Winter Olympics and the 2022 Winter Paralympics.

The National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC, Chinese: 中国科学院国家天文台; pinyin: Zhōngguó Kēxuéyuàn Guójiā Tiānwéntái) is an astronomical research institute operated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Purple Mountain Observatory and National Time Service Center.

The Ling Long Pagoda or Linglong Tower (Multifunctional Studio Tower) (玲珑塔) houses a part of the International Broadcast Center (IBC). It is located near the Olympic Cauldron, on the northwest side of Beijing National Stadium. "Ling Long" (玲珑) means delicate, and is referred to as the Delicate Tower in Chinese.

The 2008 Summer Olympics cauldron is the Olympic flame holder that was used during the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. It was first lit on August 8, 2008, as part of the opening ceremony of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad and last extinguished as part of the closing ceremony of the games of the Paralympics on September 17. Originally located on the inside roof of the Beijing National Stadium, it was relocated to outside the stadium on the Olympic Green following the completion of the Games.

Beijing Olympic Green Circuit is a street circuit in Beijing, China, which was first used on 13 September 2014 during the first ePrix of Formula E. It ran around the grounds of the Olympic Stadium used in the 2008 Summer Olympics. The track featured 20 turns, and at 3.453 km (2.146 mi) is still the longest track currently used in Formula E. Choosing the location and designing the track was done by designer Rodrigo Nunes in close cooperation with the FIA, Formula E, the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of PR China, the Olympic Green management, the Mayor of Beijing, the Chinese Government, and event organiser China Racing.

The Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics Village (simplified Chinese: 北京奥运村; traditional Chinese: 北京奧運村; pinyin: Běijīng 2008 Àoyùn Cūn) is a complex of high-rise apartments in Beijing, China, which were opened to the public on July 27, 2008 and closed on August 27, 2008, in conjunction with the 2008 Summer Olympics. As an Olympic Village, it hosted the competitors and their coaches during the event. The village is located on 660,000 square meters (7,100,000 sq ft) of land which connects with the Olympic Forest and Stadium. It is also connected to two media villages which can host up to 7,000 media personnel. The village was designed to accommodate over 16,000 athletes while providing ample space for both the athletes' social and athletic needs. Of the $42 billion Beijing spent on hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics, $1.827 billion went to the Olympic Village.Safety was of extreme importance to athletes as well as their home countries. During the Olympics, extreme humidity and pollution were a problem, with the Czech team taking their own air measurements to ensure the health and safety of their athletes.After the Olympics, apartments on the Olympic Green have been transformed into a residential area. Due to this, for the 2022 Winter Olympics, there was a need to build another Olympic Village on a smaller scale. These new buildings are located in the southern area of Olympic Green at area of the former hockey and archery fields on the neighbour area of the National Olympic Sports Center.

The National Indoor Stadium (国家体育馆), a.k.a Folding Fan (折扇), is an arena located at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China.The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people, and was constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is nicknamed the Fan (扇子, shànzi) due to its design resembling a traditional Chinese folding fan.

The women's shot put at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 22 August.The championship suffered a little with the failure of Valerie Adams to return to defend her 2013 title following surgery over the winter. In the run-up to these championships Adams suffered the end of her 57 event winning streak a month earlier.In the finals, home favorite Gong Lijiao assumed the early lead with a 20.30 first put. On the third throw, Christina Schwanitz made 20.37 to take the lead. Gong had no answer and the rest of the field was too far behind, led by Michelle Carter's 19.76. Anita Márton threw a fourth round 19.48m national record to take fourth.
