Madrid has the highest GDP per capita in the country.It contains three World Heritage Sites: the Monastery and Royal Site of El Escorial, the University and historic centre of Alcalá de Henares, and the cultural landscape of Aranjuez. In addition, the Montejo Beech Forest is part of the transnational Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe world heritage site.

Madrid is one of the 59 constituencies (Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Senate of Spain, the upper chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales. The constituency elects four senators. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Madrid. The electoral system uses limited voting, with electors voting for individual candidates instead of parties. Electors can vote for up to three candidates.

Distrito Telefónica is the headquarters of the Spanish telecom company Telefónica, S.A. in Las Tablas, a neighborhood in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district of Madrid, Spain, accessible from the A-1 "Autovía del Norte" and the M-40 ring road. The complex was known as Distrito C or Distrito de las Comunicaciones ("Communications District") until 2011.

Fuencarral is a neighborhood located in the northern part of Madrid, Spain. It includes the municipal area of the ancient town of Fuencarral, which was annexed to the city of Madrid by a decree of November 10, 1950. Administratively, Fuencarral belongs to the municipal district of Valverde in the district of Fuencarral-El Pardo.

Valverde is an administrative neighborhood (barrio) of Madrid belonging to the district of Fuencarral-El Pardo. It has an area of 8.977802 km2 (3.466349 sq mi). As of 1 March 2020, it has a population of 65,022. The historic centre of Fuencarral (Fuencarral Pueblo), belongs to the Valverde neighborhood. The Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal is also located in the neighborhood.
