Fuencarral

Valverde is an administrative neighborhood (barrio) of Madrid belonging to the district of Fuencarral-El Pardo. It has an area of 8.977802 km2 (3.466349 sq mi). As of 1 March 2020, it has a population of 65,022. The historic centre of Fuencarral (Fuencarral Pueblo), belongs to the Valverde neighborhood. The Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal is also located in the neighborhood.

Fuencarral is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone A.

Tres Olivos is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone A.As the interchange station from Line 10A to 10B (MetroNorte) toward Hospital Infanta Sofía, it has two platforms.

Montecarmelo is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone A. The station gives service to the homonymous neighborhood, Madrid, Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes.

Las Tablas is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro and Line 1 of the Metro Ligero. It is located in fare Zone A.

The Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal is a public general hospital located in the Valverde neighborhood, in Madrid, Spain, part of the hospital network of the Servicio Madrileño de Salud. It is one of the healthcare institutions associated to the University of Alcalá for the purpose of clinical internship.

In addition, the Montejo Beech Forest is part of the transnational Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe world heritage site.

Madrid is one of the 59 constituencies (Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Senate of Spain, the upper chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales. The constituency elects four senators. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Madrid. The electoral system uses limited voting, with electors voting for individual candidates instead of parties. Electors can vote for up to three candidates.

Universidad Villanueva is a private university located in Madrid (Spain), affiliated to the Catholic organization Opus Dei. It is the smallest university in Madrid by number of bachelor's students. It started teaching in the year 2020, although its history as an institution can be traced back to 1977.

The Hospital Universitario La Paz, HULP, is a general tertiary hospital situated in the neighbourhood that takes its name from the hospital in the northern city district of Fuencarral-El Pardo in the city of Madrid in Spain. It is affiliated to the Madrid Regional Health Care System (Servicio Madrileño de Salud-SERMAS) a branch of the Commonwealth of Madrid (the autonomous region's executive administration). The hospital opened in July 1964, being at that time the first modern hospital centre in the country. It was named to celebrate the 25 years of francoist peace after the Spanish Civil War. Today, it remains one of the largest hospitals in Madrid by number of in-patients (it serves a population in excess of 500000 people) and one of the biggest of Spain from the number of beds. Remarkably, it was named the best-valued public-owned hospital in 2018. Among its wards they are particularly renowned the ones devoted to Cardiovascular disease, Hematology, Neonatology and Organ transplantation. Moreover, the HULP coordinates a European Reference Network for pediatric transplantation, funded by the European Commission.HULP's headquarters are concentrated in a campus at the northern end of Paseo de la Castellana avenue and comprises 18 buildings that forms three major separate hospitals: General, Children's and Trauma. Administratively, the HULP also includes the smaller Hospital de Cantoblanco and Hospital Carlos III. Hospital Carlos III houses the infectious diseases area and it is widely recognized by hosting patients of both Ebola, during the 2013-2016 West-Africa Ebola outbreak, and Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever.After the opening (1968) of the Autonomous University of Madrid-UAM's School of Medicine close to the HULP campus, it becomes its clinical reference site. Many of HULP's practitioners also serve as Associate Lecturers at UAM.
