McKee Street Bridge

The James Bute Company Warehouse, located at 711 William Street in Houston, Texas, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 7, 1994. The Bute Paint Company, founded by James Bute, operated from 1867 until 1990. Its warehouse building on William Street was built in 1909. Abandoned after 1990, the property was converted to loft apartments in 1993.

Joe Kegans Intermediate Sanctions Facility is an Intermediate Sanctions facility of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice located along the northeast edge of Downtown Houston, Texas. The approximately 1 acre (0.40 ha) facility for men is located .5 miles (0.80 km) south of Interstate 10.The detention facility building that Kegans uses first opened in February 1995 as a place to house nonviolent offenders in order to relieve prison overcrowding. The unit closed after four months of use because not enough inmates had been put there to justify the additional expenses. The building had been unoccupied for two years before it re-opened in 1997. The building was formally dedicated at 10 A.M. on Wednesday October 15, 1997. As of 1997 all prisoners at the unit are convicted of parole violations such as non-violent property crimes. The unit was named after Joe Kegans, a state district judge who died in 1997 at 69 years of age.The Kegans Jail, along with the Pam Lychner State Jail, serves state jail offenders from Harris County. As of 2001 Kegans serves lower risk offenders.

The National Biscuit Company Building, located at 15 North Chenevert in Houston, Texas, was built for Nabisco in 1910, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 20, 1998. The structure was converted to apartments and is now known as City View Lofts.

The Palace Hotel, located at 216 La Branch in Houston, Texas, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 13, 2006.

The San Jacinto Street Bridge is a viaduct which crosses Buffalo Bayou in Houston, Texas. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). This bridge was built in 1914 to replace an iron pivot bridge of 1883 origin, and rehabilitated in 1997. It is a transportation conduit connecting downtown and the historical Fifth Ward.

UH–Downtown is a station on the METRORail Red Line in Houston, Texas (USA) and it is the former northern terminus of the Red Line, since the line was extended in late 2013. The station is located on top of the Main Street viaduct at the campus of the University of Houston–Downtown (UHD). This station is located on top of the Main Street viaduct. Due to space limitations, it has an extremely narrow platform. As a result, the ticket vending machines are located on the property of the University of Houston–Downtown.

The Union Transfer and Storage Building is a building in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Constructed in 1917, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 16, 2001.

Allen's Landing is the officially recognized birthplace of the city of Houston, Texas, United States, the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States. Located in Downtown Houston between the Main Street and Fannin Street viaducts, the landing encompasses the southern bank of Buffalo Bayou, the city's principal river, at its confluence with White Oak Bayou, a major tributary. Allen's Landing is located south of the University of Houston–Downtown Commerce Street Building. In August 1836, just months after the Republic of Texas won its independence from Mexico, two New York real estate developers, John Kirby Allen and Augustus Chapman Allen, purchased 6,642 acres (26.88 km2) of coastal prairie and settled the town of Houston on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. The present-day landing area was advertised as the head of navigation of the bayou and served as the city's first wharf.

White Oak Bayou is a slow-moving river in Houston, Texas. A major tributary of the city's principal waterway, Buffalo Bayou, White Oak originates near the intersection of Texas State Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 290 (the Northwest Freeway) and meanders southeast for 25 miles (40 km) until it joins Buffalo Bayou in Downtown. The river serves as a greenway which connects Downtown to the Houston Heights, Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Inwood Forest. A large majority of White Oak Bayou's route travels through highly developed areas. The river's 111-square-mile (290 km2) watershed contains a population of over 430,000.

The Saint Arnold Brewing Company is a craft brewery in Houston, Texas, USA, named after a patron saint of brewing, Saint Arnulf of Metz. It was founded in 1994 by Brock Wagner and Kevin Bartol, graduates of Rice University. The brewery offers tours every weekday & Saturday afternoons, which have attracted a large following. Saint Arnold has won numerous national and international awards including Mid Size Brewery of The Year 2017.

The Kiam Building is located at 320 Main Street in Downtown Houston. Clothier Ed Kiam commissioned H.C. Holland to design the five-story, brick Romanesque Revival building, which was completed in 1893. The Kiam Building was the first in Houston to operate an electric elevator, and it was wired for electric lighting. Kiam operated his haberdashery on the ground floor and leased rooms on the upper floors as office space. Another retailer, Sakowitz operated in the Kiam Building between 1918 and 1929. Barry Moore completed restoration of the building in 1981. The Greater Houston Preservation Alliance recognized Moore's work with a Good Brick Award the same year.

Walter's (formerly Walter's on Washington) is a music venue in the Northside Village neighborhood of Houston. Originally opening in 2000 at 4215 Washington Avenue, the venue permanently moved to 1120 Naylor Street on December 25, 2011. The club hosts both local and touring musical acts. The founding owner of the club, Pam Robinson died last fall at the age of 55 after a cancer fight. Her son Zack Palmer took over the reins in late November.
