Iranikulam Sree Mahadeva Temple is located at Iranikulam, Mala in Thrissur district. The temple has two main deities, Thekkadathappan and Vadakkedathappan. Both deities are Lord Shiva. In the rehabilitation of the temple, the new idol was replaced by a broken statue. The South shrine is generally considered to be the two-level Sanctum sanctorum shrine of Lord Shiva. The presiding deities of north shrine are Lord Shiva, Parvati and Subramanya dwell at the same altar in the sanctum sanctorum facing east. It is believed that this temple is one of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala and is installed by sage Parasurama dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located center of ancient Iranikulam grama (village). Maha Shivarathri festival of the temple celebrates in the Malayalam month of Kumbha (February - March).

Kottayil Kovilakam or Kottayil Kovilakom is a small village in the Paravur taluk, Ernakulam district of Kerala state, near Kochi, south India. It has a temple devoted to Krishna located on the top of a hill. On the riverside a group of huge rocks known as 'ANAPARA' is the main highlight. The kunnathuthali temples were constructed 400 years ago.

Puthenvelikara (aka Newfenceland) is a village at North end of the Ernakulam district, situated in the Paravur Taluk of Kerala, India. The Chalakkudy River merges with the Periyar River at Elenthikara in the village of Puthenvelikkara. Puthenvelikkara is on the banks of the river Periyar, Chalakudy and Kottapuram lagoon. It is a centre of agricultural production in the region with its many rice paddy fields.

Chalakudy River or Chalakudy Puzha is the fifth longest river in Kerala, India. The river flows through Thrissur district, Palakkad district and Ernakulam district of Kerala. The total drainage area of the river is 1704 km2. Out of this,1404 km2 lies in Kerala and the rest in Tamil Nadu. The length of the river is 145.5 km. Though Chalakudy River in strict geological sense is a tributary of the Periyar river, for all practical purposes it is treated as a separate river by Government and other agencies. The river has gained its name since it flows along the banks of the Chalakudy Town, the major settlement along the course of the river. It is perhaps the most unpolluted and pristine river in the state and even in India due to the limited amount of industries and wastage disposal around it. Chalakudy River and its basin area were one of the most affected rivers during the 2018 Kerala floods.

Sree Venugopla Krishna Swami Devasthan is a Hindu temple located in Chendamangalam, Kerala, India. It was established in 1900 at Chennamangalam (earlier known as Jayantha mangalam), 42 km from Ernakulam, 22 km from Aluva and 5 km from North Paravur. Its main deity is Venugopalakrishna Swamy, and its main idol is Shila Vigrah of Venugopalakrishna Swamy. It also contains an Utsav idol of the Lord and the idols of Garuda and Hanuman at his feet. The temple celebrates a six-day-long annual festival in the month of Vaisakh.

Thuruthipuram, also known as Chathedom Thuruthipuram, is a village on the borders of Ernakulam district and Thrissur in Paravur Taluk, Kerala, India. Situated on the Periyar River, the rainy season can prove challenging for residents, with occasional flooding of lower-lying areas. Fishing provides an important source of income for many villagers. The village is inhabited by people of different religions, mainly Hindus and Christians. The church name is St. Francis Assisi church which is a Latin Catholic church and forms part of the Kottapuram Diocese. According to the historical books, Thuruthipuram was the native of the first Roman Catholic group of the Archdiocese of Verapoly. The temple's name is Muruka-Valli-Devasena temple. The place contains schools, a college and a hospital which are controlled by the church. There is a post office (Pin Code: 680667). AAJM Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in this area which was initially run by foreign missionaries. Thuruthipuram is well known for its boat races and Chavittu nadakam. The famous "Thuruthippuram Boat Race" is conducted in the Thuruthipuram river. This boat race is one of the oldest boat races in central Kerala. In 2016, a group of people from this place built a "Iruttukuthi"(also known as "OOdi") boat and named it "Thuruthippuram". This is the first B grade Iruttukuthi boat in kerala with a village's name.
