Guzman College of Science and Technology is one of the institutions founded by Don Zacarias P. De Guzman in 1947. It is a pioneering vocational college in Manila, the Philippines. Don Zacarias began the college out of sympathy for unemployed individuals who needed work after the devastation of World War II. Louie De Guzman, former head of Guzman College and son of Don Zacarias, has stated that the school has gained enough renown that "leading politicians would be invited on graduation to challenge the graduates."

Quiapo ([ˈkjapɔʔ]) is a district of the city of Manila, in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. Referred to as the "Old Downtown of Manila", Quiapo is home to the Quiapo Church, where the Feast of the Black Nazarene is held with millions of people participating annually. Quiapo has also made a name for itself as a place for marketplace bargain hunting. Quiapo is geographically located at the very center of the city of Manila. It is bounded by the Pasig River and Estero de San Miguel to the south, San Miguel to the east, Recto Avenue to the north and Rizal Avenue to the west.

The Black Nazarene (Spanish: El Nazareno Negro; Filipino: Poóng Itím na Nazareno) is a life-sized image of a dark, genuflecting image of Jesus Christ carrying the True Cross enshrined in Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines.The image was reputedly carved by an unknown Mexican artist in the 16th century and then brought to the Philippines in 1606. It depicts Jesus en route to his crucifixion. Pope Innocent X granted recognition to the lay Confraternity of the namesake image in 1650 for religious devotion. It was housed in various churches near Manila, then permanently stationed in Quiapo Church in 1787 where it remains today.Pope John Paul II issued a Pontifical decree Qui Loco Petri which raised the shrine to the status of Minor Basilica on 11 December 1988. The decree was signed and notarized by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Agostino Casaroli. Pious believers claim that physically touching the image can bring miracles and cure diseases. The original image or its replica is given a religious procession three times a year: January 9 — the official Feast of the Black Nazarene commemorating the translation of the image from Intramuros. Good Friday — it’s liturgical feast, commemorating the culmination of the Passion of Jesus. December 31 — the eve of New Year commencing its novena.

The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Filipino: Basílika Menor ng Itím na Nazareno; Spanish: Basílica Menor del Nazareno Negro), known canonically as the Saint John the Baptist Parish (Filipino: Parokya ng San Juan Bautista; Spanish: Parroquia de San Juan el Bautista) and also known as Quiapo Church (Spanish: Iglesia Parroquial de Quiapo; Filipino: Simbahan ng Quiapo), is a prominent basilica in the district of Quiapo in the city of Manila, Philippines. The basilica is famous home for the Black Nazarene, a dark statue of Jesus Christ said to be miraculous. The basilica is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Manila and its current rector is Rev. Fr. Rufino C. Sescon, Jr.

The Nakpil-Bautista House (Tagalog: Bahay Nakpil-Bautista) is a bahay na bato ancestral home found in the district of Quiapo, Manila, the Philippines. It was built in 1914 by Arcadio Arellano. The house originally sat on two lots, having a total area of 500 square metres (5,400 sq ft). The National Historical Commission of the Philippines declared the house as a cultural property on August 25, 2011. Today, the house is a museum and community center showcasing items of the Katipunan, paintings, among others.

The Boix House, also known as Teotico-Crespo House or Casa Boix, is a bahay na bato heritage house located in Quiapo, Manila, the Philippines. Owned by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus, the restoration of the house is currently being advocated by the civic group Kapitbahayan sa Kalye Bautista.The house typifies the bulaklak sa trellis (lit. flowers in trellis) architectural style that was common during the latter part of Spanish rule in the Philippines in the 1890s.

The Ocampo Pagoda Mansion is a mansion which resembles a pagoda configuration in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. It was commissioned by the Jose Mariano Ocampo and was constructed from 1936 to 1941 on the eve of Japanese invasion of the Philippines.

The Plaza Miranda bombing (Filipino: Pambobomba sa Liwasang Miranda) occurred during a political rally of the Liberal Party at Plaza Miranda, Quiapo district, Manila, the Philippines on August 21, 1971. It caused nine deaths and injured 95 others, including many prominent Liberal Party politicians.

The Arsenio H. Lacson Underpass, also known as the Victory Lacson Underpass, is a pedestrian underpass and retail area in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. First opened in the 1960s, it is regarded as the first pedestrian underpass in the Philippines.

Plaza Miranda is a public square bounded by Quezon Boulevard, Hidalgo Street and Evangelista Street in Quiapo, Manila. It is the plaza which fronts the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church), one of the main churches of the City of Manila, and is considered as the center of Quiapo as a whole. Inaugurated in its current form by Mayor Arsenio Lacson in 1961, it is named after José Sandino y Miranda, who served as the Philippines' Secretary of the Treasury between 1833 and 1854. Regarded as the center of Philippine political discourse prior to the imposition of martial law in 1972, the plaza was the site of the 1971 Plaza Miranda bombing, where two grenades were launched at a political rally of the Liberal Party, killing nine people. It later became the venue of the Movement of Concerned Citizens for Civil Liberties (MCCCL) rally led by Sen. Jose W. Diokno on September 21, 1972, where 50,000 people gathered together to protest the impending martial law declaration of the Marcos dictatorship. Martial law was quickly made official hours after the event. It underwent a ₱49 million renovation in 2000 after decades of neglect as a result of Manila's urban decay in the 1970s and 1980s, giving it a more modern design despite protests from various historical groups and cultural experts, with a monument erected to commemorate bombing victims and additional architectural elements installed. Currently, Plaza Miranda serves as a freedom park, where assemblies and protests may be held without needing a permit from local authorities, and with thousands of people crossing through it every day, it is considered to be Manila's version of Times Square.Despite fronting the Quiapo Church, Plaza Miranda and the streets surrounding it is known as a center for fortune-telling and the sale of lucky charms and amulets. Most fortune tellers who practice around Plaza Miranda claim that they are able to draw their ability to tell fortunes from their devotion to the Black Nazarene (the patron of the Quiapo Church) despite Catholic Church doctrine deploring the practice.

The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) is a private, non-sectarian, coeducational secondary and higher education institution located in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. It is currently led by Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista as president.

St. Francis Square is situated in the Karlova Ves borough of Bratislava, Slovakia. It also is a part of the Bratislava IV district. St. Francis Square was opened in 2004. Already in March 2005 they had a problem with collapse. Therefore, it was closed for one more year and was finished and finally opened in May 2006. The square is designed to a shape of a circle. There is a nice fountain in the center of the circle, surrounded by well grown grass, nice bushes, flowers and benches. There are trees only near the road, because under the square there is an underground garage. Half of the circle is enclosed by polyfunctional building.
