École secondaire Franco-Jeunesse is a French high school in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and is administered by the Conseil scolaire Viamonde. Franco-Jeunesse opened up a new school as of September 2012. The school was previously conjoined with NCIVS, but now neighbours SFX and the French community centre. It is well known in Sarnia for its advanced Technology and Robotics programs.

Lakeview Cemetery Company is a cemetery located at Colborne Road and Michigan Avenue in Sarnia, Ontario. Opened in 1879 by the Town of Sarnia to replace smaller and church-based cemeteries, it is most notable for being the burial place of Canadian Prime Minister Alexander Mackenzie. The cemetery, which is still an active burial site and now has a crematorium, contains the war graves of 11 Canadian service personnel of World War I and 13 of World War II.Other notables buried here include: Alexander Vidal – Ontario Senator and MLA for the United Provinces of Canada Frederick Forsyth Pardee – Ontario MPP and MP; Senator William Thomas Goodison – MP for Sarnia

Lambton Mall is a shopping mall located in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, owned by Chicago real estate company Cushman and Wakefield. It opened in 1971 and, through several expansions, has grown to encompass over 580,000 square feet of retail space.

Lambton College is a publicly funded college in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, attended primarily by international students. In 2021-22 8,773 of the college's total headcount of 10,864 students, 82%, were on student visas. Lambton College also has campuses in Mississauga and Toronto. Lambton’s two private partner colleges in Toronto and Mississauga — Cestar College of Business, Health and Technology and Queen’s College of Business, Technology, and Public Safety are composed of only international students.

The Progressive Auto Sales Arena is a 5,500-capacity (4,118-seated) multi-purpose arena in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the campus of Lambton College and opened in September 1998. The Progressive Auto Sales Arena is currently home to the Sarnia Sting OHL ice hockey team. The Sarnia Legionnaires (1969–) Junior B hockey club holds its training camp at the facility before moving to Sarnia Arena for its regular schedule. The arena features two NHL-sized ice pads, 43 luxury suites, and an in-house, full-service restaurant. Artists such as Crash Test Dummies, Blue Man Group, Bryan Adams and Elton John have played there, and it has also hosted Stars on Ice.

Great Lakes Secondary School (GLSS) is a high school in Sarnia, Ontario. It was previously named St. Clair Secondary School, and it was renamed after being consolidated with Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School. Bluewater Health is a hospital in Sarnia, Ontario. It was opened October 3, 1896 as Sarnia General Hospital and was the community's first public hospital. In 2010, with extensive renovations to the two existing buildings and construction of a third, it was renamed Bluewater Health. With construction and redevelopment completed at a cost of $319 million, the hospital now encompasses about 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2). It employs almost 1,800 staff and physicians, along with over 700 volunteers, and is Sarnia—Lambton's largest public sector employer. It is funded primarily by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, with additional fundraising by Bluewater Health Foundation and Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital foundation. It has 326 beds, 8 operating rooms, an emergency department, and a full spectrum of programs to serve the approximately 125,000 people in the Sarnia-Lambton area.

Point Edward is a village in the Canadian province of Ontario. Adjacent to the city of Sarnia in Lambton County, Point Edward sits opposite Port Huron, Michigan and is connected to it by the Blue Water Bridge, at the meeting point of the St. Clair River and Lake Huron. Formerly called Huron, it was renamed in 1860 to mark the visit by the then Prince of Wales, later Edward VII. Incorporated 1879. In the Canada 2016 Census, the population of Point Edward was 2,037, an increase of 0.1 percent from its 2011 population of 2,034. In the summer of 2003, Point Edward celebrated its 125th anniversary.

On the afternoon of Thursday, May 21, 1953, a violent F4 tornado struck the cities of Port Huron, Michigan, United States and Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. The long-tracked, over mile-wide tornado destroyed large sections of the downtown areas of both cities, as well scores of neighborhoods in the surrounding areas. Seven people were killed, 117 others were injured, and damages were estimated $17.6 million (1953 USD). The tornado was the last of a two-day severe weather outbreak that also produced two intense tornadoes in Iowa the day before.

The Pat Stapleton Arena is a 2,302 capacity arena in Sarnia, Ontario that is home to the Sarnia Legionnaires, one of the most successful teams in Canadian junior ice hockey history. Located at the corner of Wellington and Brock Streets, it is the largest arena owned by the city of Sarnia.It was built in 1948 and is currently home to the Legionnaires of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, as well as minor hockey teams and minor hockey tournaments.The Legionnaires have won six championships and launched the careers of nine NHL players, including Hall of Famer Phil Esposito. Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley credits the Legionnaires with keeping the Pat Stapleton Arena alive. In fact, because the team drew such huge crowds in the 2008–09 season, city council decided to put in new seating, higher glass and to repair the roof. There had been talk of tearing the building down, but that disappeared after the '09 Legionnaires drew more than 50,000 fans to their games. While used primarily for ice hockey, it is also used for skating lessons, public skating sessions, the circus, high school graduation ceremonies, and other special events. Until McMorran Place in Port Huron, Michigan was built in 1960, it was the Blue Water region's primary concert venue.The Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League played at the arena briefly in the mid-1990s while the Progressive Auto Sales Arena (Formally the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre) was under construction. The arena was not large enough to host the OHL team permanently, and the Sting were only allowed to move to Sarnia on the condition that a new arena be built.In January 1957 the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL played an exhibition game at the Sarnia Arena against the Legionnaires. The Hawks won, but the Sarnia Jr. 'B' team got six goals. In 2021, the Sarnia Arena was renamed Pat Stapleton Arena after the late Pat Stapleton.

Sarnia station (also Sarnia Tunnel Station) is a Via Rail train station in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. It is the western terminus for Via Rail trains running from Toronto through southwestern Ontario. The unstaffed station is wheelchair accessible. The station includes vending machines, washrooms, a pay phone, and a medium-sized waiting area. Train 84 leaves daily from Sarnia at 08:40, and returns as train 87 at 22:20.The International Limited was operated jointly by Via Rail and Amtrak between Chicago and Toronto. The service, which had ended in 1971 by CN Rail, was restarted in 1982 and discontinued again in 2004 due to border delays and post-9/11.Sarnia Transit Route 1 Confederation will service the railway station on request and the connection to Amtrak Blue Water route can be made from cross border taxis between Sarnia and Port Huron. The Gothic Revival station was built in 1891 by the Grand Trunk Railway (and designed by engineer Joseph Hobson) and later acquired by VIA Rail through CN Rail.

Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron. Sarnia is located on the eastern bank of the junction between the Upper and Lower Great Lakes where Lake Huron flows into the St. Clair River in the Southwestern Ontario region, which forms the Canada–United States border, directly across from Port Huron, Michigan. The site's natural harbour first attracted the French explorer La Salle. He named the site "The Rapids" on 23 August 1679, when he had horses and men pull his 45-ton barque Le Griffon north against the nearly four-knot current of the St. Clair River. This was the first time that a vessel other than a canoe or other oar-powered vessel had sailed into Lake Huron, and La Salle's voyage was germinal in the development of commercial shipping on the Great Lakes. Located in the natural harbour, the Sarnia port remains an important centre for lake freighters and oceangoing ships carrying cargoes of grain and petroleum products. The natural port and the salt caverns that exist in the surrounding areas, together with the oil discovered in nearby Oil Springs in 1858, led to the dramatic growth of the petroleum industry in this area. Because Oil Springs was the first place in Canada and North America to drill commercially for oil, the knowledge that was acquired there resulted in oil drillers from Sarnia travelling the world teaching other enterprises and nations how to drill for oil.The complex of refining and chemical companies is called "Chemical Valley" and located south of downtown Sarnia. In 2011 the city had the highest level of particulates air pollution of any Canadian city, but it has since dropped to rank 30th in this hazard. About 60 percent of the particulate matter comes from industries and polluters in the neighbouring United States.Lake Huron is cooler than the air in summer and warmer than the air in winter; therefore, it moderates Sarnia's humid continental climate, making temperature extremes of hot and cold less evident. In the winter, Sarnia occasionally experiences lake-effect snow from Arctic air blowing across the warmer waters of Lake Huron and condensing to form snow squalls over land.
