Ben Arous Governorate (Tunisian Arabic: ولاية بن عروس Wilāyat Bin ‘Arūs pronounced [bɪn.ʕæˈruːs]; French: Gouvernorat de Ben Arous) is one of the twenty-four governorates of Tunisia. It is in the north-east of Tunisia and adjoins smaller Tunis Governorate. It covers an area of 761 km² and had a population of 712,172 as at the 2019 census. The capital is Ben Arous.

Ben Arous (Tunisian Arabic: بن عروس ) is a city in north-eastern Tunisia, part the agglomeration of Tunis, also called "Grand Tunis". It is located south of Tunis city center and is the capital of the Ben Arous Governorate.

Vasilefs Georgios (Greek: ΒΠ Βασιλεύς Γεώργιος) (King George) was the lead ship of her class of two destroyers built for the Royal Hellenic Navy before the Second World War. Flagship of the navy's Destroyer Flotilla, she participated in the Greco-Italian War in 1940–1941, escorting convoys and unsuccessfully attacking Italian shipping in the Adriatic Sea. While under repair during the Axis invasion of Greece in 1941, Vasilefs Georgios sank when the floating drydock that she was in was either scuttled or sunk by German aircraft. The ship was later salvaged and repaired by the Germans who commissioned her into the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) in 1942 as ZG3, later renaming her as Hermes. They generally used the ship to escort convoys to and from North Africa and islands in the Aegean Sea. In addition, the Germans occasionally used the ship to lay mines and to ferry troops and supplies. After Hermes was transferred to the Central Mediterranean, she sank a British submarine about a week before she was crippled by Allied aircraft in late April 1943. The ship was towed to Tunisia and was scuttled as a blockship shortly before the Allies occupied Tunisia in early May. They refloated the wreck and it was scrapped after the war.

Ezzahra (Arabic: الزهراء) is a coastal city on the outskirts of Tunis located south of the capital. Ezzahra is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the municipalities of Rades, Hammam Lif and Boumhel EL-Bassatine. Administratively attached to the governorate of Ben Arous, it is the seat of a delegation and a municipality of 31,792 inhabitants (in 2014) while the city itself has a population of 6000 inhabitants. The municipality of Ezzahra consists of four cities: Ezzahra, El Habib, 18 January and Borj El-Louzir.

Bou Mhel el-Bassatine is a town and commune in the Ben Arous Governorate, Tunisia. As of 2004 it had a total population of 27,977.

The Meliane River (وادي مليان), also known as Oued Miliane is a wadi that flows into the Gulf of Tunis located in the North Eastern coast of Tunisia.The River starts near Djebel Bargou(جبل برقو) mountains and drains a watershed of about 2000 km². The Oued Miliane has a number of tributaries including Oued el Hamma, and is the second longest course perennial river in the country after the Medjerda.

Nessma El Jadida (Arabic: الجديدة نسمة, translation: New Breeze), formerly known as Nessma TV (Arabic: قناة نسمة, translation: "Breeze TV") and Nessma Rouge (Arabic: نسمة روج, translation: Red Breeze) was a commercial TV channel based in Tunisia, targeting Tunisia and the Maghreb countries. It was 25% formerly owned by the Italian company Mediaset, controlled by Silvio Berlusconi. All programmes broadcast on this channel had subtitles in French or Maghrebi Arabic. It broadcast such programs as the Maghrebi version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, called Man sa yarbah al malyoon. The TV channel was launched on 16 March 2007, by Nabil and Ghazi Karoui, in partnership with Berlusconi and Tarak Ben Ammar. It was created as a subsidiary of Karoui & Karoui World Group.On 27 October 2021, the channel was ordered to shut down by Tunisia's broadcasting regulator, which said it was operating without a license. The channel's studios were also raided by Tunisian state security forces, and may have been politically motivated, as Nessma owner Nabil Karoui (the runner-up in the 2019 Tunisian presidential election) who has since been recently and frequently jailed is a rival of President Kais Saied. The seizure was also sudden as the network had been unlicensed for years, but no action had previously been taken.The channel was granted a temporary license by HAICA to reoperate on 8 March 2022 after a negotiation between the representatives of the channel and the president of HAICA on 15 February 2022.The channel was officially relaunched on 11 March 2022. The channel is now owned by the new managing director Zied Riba under his company Maghreb Broadcast. The channel's name was also changed to Nessma El Jadida or New Nessma (Arabic: الجديدة نسمة, translation: "New Breeze"). The channel became available on the Iraqi satellite ShababSat on DMN.

Radès (Arabic: رادس) is a harbour city in Ben Arous Governorate, Tunisia. Situated 9 km (5.6 mi) south-east of the capital Tunis, some consider it a Tunis suburb, and parts of the harbor installations of Tunis are located in Radès. Rades is divided into sub cities: Radès Medina, Radès Méliane, Rades Forêt, Chouchet Radès, El Malleha, Noubou and The Olympic City, Rades Montjil, Rades echat. Way to Zahra district and el Oulija.

Hammadi Agrebi Stadium, opened as Stade 7 November, is a multi-purpose stadium in Radès, Tunis, Tunisia about 10 kilometers south-east of downtown Tunis, in the center of the Olympic City. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has facilities for athletics. The stadium has a capacity of up to 60,000 spectators and was built in 2001 for the 2001 Mediterranean Games. The stadium is considered to be one of the best stadiums in Africa.

The Action of May 1612 was a raid which took place on the night of 23 or 25 May 1612 when a force of Sicilian and Neapolitan galleys attacked some Tunisian vessels at La Goulette, northern Tunisia. 7, or perhaps 9 or 10, Tunisian sailing ships were destroyed, while several smaller vessels were captured.

The Action of 29 June 1609 was an attack on Tunisian ships on 29 June 1609 by a combined fleet of 8 Spanish galleons and 3 smaller vessels, under Admiral Don Luis Fajardo, and a French squadron of 3 vessels, under Beaulieu. The raid was made at the Halq al-Wadi, northern Tunisia.

La Goulette (French pronunciation: ​[la ɡulɛt], Italian: La Goletta), in Arabic Halq al-Wadi (حلق الوادي Ḥalq el-Wād), is a municipality and the port of Tunis, Tunisia. La Goulette is located at around 36°49′5″N 10°18′18″E on a sandbar between Lake Tūnis and the Gulf of Tunis. The port, located 12km east of Tunis, is the point of convergence of Tunisia's major road and rail networks. La Goulette is linked to Tunis by the TGM railway and to Europe by a ferry service.
