Jefferson County Government Center–Golden station (sometimes stylized and abbreviated as JeffCo Gov't Cntr•Golden) is an at-grade light rail station on the W Line of the RTD Rail system. It is located near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Johnson Road, on grounds of the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden, Colorado, after which the station is named.The station opened on April 26, 2013, as the western terminus of the West Corridor, built as part of the Regional Transportation District (RTD) FasTracks public transportation expansion plan and voter-approved sales tax increase for the Denver metropolitan area.Jefferson County Government Center–Golden station has a 705 space park and ride garage and a bus stop served by the Golden FlexRide, a demand-responsive transport service operated by RTD Bus, serving the city of Golden. The station also has bicycle parking racks, lockers and a connection to the 6th Avenue Trail, a multi-use trail that runs along U.S. Route 6.

The Jefferson County Government Center, is a consolidation of numerous governmental departments for Jefferson County, Colorado. Located in Golden, Colorado, the 531,000-square-foot (49,300 m2) contains a judicial wing of 304,000 square feet (28,200 m2) and an administrative wing, joined by the central lobby atrium, of 227,000 square feet (21,100 m2). The government center opened in 1993.Concealed either underground or by landscaping, the government center’s two-story parking structure holds 1,400 vehicles and serves both wings. In addition, a 15,000-square-foot (1,400 m2) tunnel and central holding facility connects the judicial building to a pre-existing detention center.

Mother Cabrini Shrine is a shrine to Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, known as Mother Cabrini, located in Golden, Colorado, United States.The shrine site includes the Stone House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Queen of Heaven Orphanage Summer Camp; a 22-foot (7 m) statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus designed by Maurice Loriaux; and a convent of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the order founded by Cabrini.

Mount Vernon is an extinct town from the former Jefferson Territory, the site of which is located in present-day Jefferson County, Colorado. Mount Vernon was founded in 1859 by Dr. Joseph Casto who followed the gold rush to Colorado in 1858. He did not find gold, but decided to establish a town between the mining camps and the city of Denver. With three other men, he founded the Denver, Auraria, and Colorado Wagon Company in December 1859. After gold ore was discovered near Central City in 1859, a trail was established through Mount Vernon. It was a main route into the mountain. A toll road that passed through Mount Vernon and through Mount Vernon Canyon was built by the wagon company, and then purchased in 1880 by Jefferson County and no longer requiring a toll to use the road. The road became U.S. 40, and then Interstate 70.At its height, there were about 200 people who lived in the town, but by 1885 it only had 50 residents. One of the town's citizens was Robert Williamson Steele, the governor of Jefferson Territory, who often worked out of his Mount Vernon house. The town had its own post office, two hotels, homes, and a store. It was described as a "beautiful and romantic village... [with] a number of neat and tidy houses." The town had a gypsum deposit and it had limestone and lime kilns. The town was abandoned over time.Its cemetery, which still exists on the Village Trail within the Jefferson County Open Space. With a grave stone dated 1860, it is one of the oldest cemeteries in the state.

It is a translator of Sterling-licensed independent station KCDO-TV (channel 3) which is owned by the Cincinnati-based E. W. Scripps Company; it is also sister to Denver-licensed ABC affiliate KMGH-TV (channel 7). KSBS-CD's transmitter is located atop Lookout Mountain, near Golden; its parent station shares studios with KMGH-TV on East Speer Boulevard in Denver's Congress Park neighborhood.

The Lariat Loop National Scenic and Historic Byway is a National Scenic Byway and a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway located in Jefferson County, Colorado, USA. The byway is a 40-mile (64 km) loop in the Front Range foothills west of Denver through Golden, Lookout Mountain Park, Genesee Park, Evergreen, Morrison, Red Rocks Park, and Dinosaur Ridge. The Lariat Loop connects to the Mount Evans Scenic Byway at Bergen Park.

Golden High School is a secondary school located in Golden, the county seat of Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. It is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools district.

Colorado State Industrial School for Boys, established in 1881 in Golden, Colorado, was a reform school for boys ages 7 to 16 who had been convicted of a crime. In 1887, an additional school was established for girls who had were convicted of crimes, pregnant, or homeless. Boys at the school were taught skills for manual labor jobs while girls were taught domestic skills.Journalist Eudochia Bell Smith covered the school and got into politics to reform it.In 1949, the state of Colorado began to overturn a law indicating that "children must earn the full cost of their upbringing with labor,” which had served as the guidepost for reform schools by forcing the children in care to work for their position in the facility.In 1968, the facility was renamed as the Lookout Mountain School for Boys. In the 1980s, it was the transformed into a maximum-security corrections facility for boys and men ages 15 to 21 who had been convicted of a crime. At this time, it was renamed the Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center.As of 2023, it is known as the Campus at Lookout Mountain (CALM) and includes several youth centers, the Aspire Youth Services Center, Golden Peak Youth Services Center, and Summit Youth Services Center.
