Lake Saltonstall (Connecticut)

East Haven is a town in New Haven County, Connecticut, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 27,923. The town is located 3 miles (5 km) east of New Haven, and is part of the South Central Connecticut Planning Region. East Haven is 35 miles (56 km) from Hartford, 82 miles (132 km) from New York City, 99 miles (159 km) from Providence, Rhode Island, and 140 miles (230 km) from Boston.

Beacon Hill, (est.) 130 feet (40 m) above sea level, is a traprock outcrop located 1.2 miles (1.9 km) southeast of New Haven, Connecticut overlooking the mouth of the Farm River 1.2 miles north of Long Island Sound. It is the southernmost notable summit of the Metacomet Ridge which extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to nearly the Vermont border. Beacon Hill is known for its scenic ledges overlooking a surrounding salt marsh and the greater Sound and for its unique microclimate ecosystems and rare plant communities. Beacon Hill is traversed by several trails, most notably the 28-mile (45 km) Branford Trail. The Shoreline Trolley Museum runs trolley service to the base of the hill. Beacon Hill should not be confused with Beacon Hill of New Haven, another traprock hill, 2 miles (3 km) to the west.

The Harrison House, also known as Harrison–Linsley House and incorrectly as the Swain-Harrison House, is a historic house museum at 124 Main Street in Branford, Connecticut. Built in 1724 by a descendant of Branford's founders, it is a good example of a Connecticut saltbox structure. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and is a contributing property to the Canoe Brook Historic District. Since 2016 it has been operated as a house museum by the Branford Historical Society.

The Shore Line Trolley Museum is a trolley museum located in East Haven, Connecticut. Incorporated in 1945, it is the oldest continuously operating trolley museum in the United States. The museum includes exhibits on trolley history in the visitors' center and offers rides on restored trolleys along its 1.5 mi (2.4 km) track as the Branford Electric Railway. In addition to trolleys, the museum also operates a small number of both trolleybuses and conventional buses. The museum encompasses the Branford Electric Railway Historic District, which was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The East Haven Green is the town green of the New England town of East Haven, Connecticut. It is bounded by River Street, Hemingway Avenue, Main Street, and Park Place and is the focal point of the East Haven Green Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This area is also part of the commercial business district of the town and contains many two- and three-story brick office buildings that have been constructed within the last ten or fifteen years. Farther to the northwest are a shopping center and high-rise apartment buildings.On the other corner of Hemingway Avenue are two older, wood-frame houses. One is a late 17th-century two-story house that has been converted to offices. Other wood-frame houses can also be found along the Main Street and Park Place sides of the green, most of them dating to the late 19th or early 20th centuries. Along Park Place are two houses built in the 18th century with a more modern Episcopal church (Christ and The Epiphany Church, built in 1964) located between the two. The other houses on the block were built around the turn of the century. To the south of the green is River Street, a two-lane street, and the Eastlawn Cemetery and The Old Cemetery. Part of The Old Cemetery is enclosed by an iron fence with a large stone gateway. On the green itself, there are two concrete paths lined with lamp posts that cross diagonally. In the center of the green is a hexagonal bandstand and a Revolutionary War cannon. It and other monuments honor war veterans including World War I, World War II, Korean and Vietnam. Another monument at the northeast corner of the green honors General Lafayette also known as Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette, and his troops that camped on the Green when they were in East Haven during the Revolutionary War. It is said that the General visited the 18th century colonial house on Main Street during his stay on the Green. At the northwest corner of the green, facing the commercial section, are three stone memorials. One is a monument erected by the American Legion dedicated to war veterans. This monument and the two flagpoles flanking it are spotlighted. Behind and to each side of the American Legion monument are monuments dedicated to soldiers who fought in World War I, and to East Haven men who died in World War II. The town cemetery located south of the Green is also included in the East Haven Green Historic District.

The Canoe Brook Historic District encompasses a small but ethnically diverse residential area west of the center of Branford, Connecticut, which exhibits more than 200 years of architectural history. It extends from Cherry Hill Road in the north to Bradley Street in the south, including portions of Main Street, Home Place, and North Harbor Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The district takes its name from Canoe Brook, a waterway now largely built over by North Main Street and other construction.

The Thomas Harrison House is a historic house at 23 North Harbor Street in Branford, Connecticut. Probably built before 1723, it is one of the town's small number of surviving 18th-century houses, that is further distinctive because of its gambrel roof. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The First Congregational Church of East Haven (also known as Old Stone Church) is a historic church at 251 Main Street in East Haven, Connecticut. It was built in 1772-74 by George Lancraft, a local builder, and is one of Connecticut's few surviving pre-Revolutionary churches. It is also one of New England's oldest stone churches, preceded principally by King's Chapel in Boston, Massachusetts. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The congregation is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

The Timothy Bradley House is a historic house at 12 Bradley Street in Branford, Connecticut. Probably built c. 1730, it is one of Branford's handful of surviving 18th-century houses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Isaac Palmer House is a historic house at 736–756 Main Street in Branford, Connecticut, USA. Built about 1810, it is a good local example Federal period architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

James Blackstone Memorial Library is a public library located in Branford, Connecticut. It is commonly referred to as the Blackstone Library or the Branford Library. The library was commissioned by Timothy Blackstone as a memorial to his father, James Blackstone. It was designed by Chicago architect Solon Spencer Beman. Construction on the building began in 1893 and was completed in 1896. The building was dedicated on June 17, 1896.There is also a Blackstone Library in Chicago, which is part of the Chicago Public Library System, and was named after Timothy Blackstone. This library was also designed by Solon Spencer Beman.

Branford station is a station on the Northeast Corridor located in Branford, Connecticut, and served by Shore Line East regional rail service.
