Grange-over-Sands

Grange Lido is an open-air 50 m sea-water swimming pool, or lido, in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria, England. It opened in 1932 and closed in 1993, but campaigners are working to see it re-opened as a swimming pool. The lido is in Art Deco style, and is grade II listed.

At the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 1,758, increasing to 1,831 at the 2011 Census.There is also a civil parish previously known as Upper Allithwaite which was renamed in 2018 as Lindale and Newton-in-Cartmel, and includes Lindale, Low Newton and High Newton. The population of this parish at the 2011 Census was 843.

Hampsfield House is a country house located to the west of the village of Lindale, Cumbria, England. It was built between 1880 and 1882, and designed by the Lancaster architects Paley and Austin. The house cost about £7,000 (equivalent to £750,000 in 2021). It was built for Sir John Tomlinson Hibbert, Member of Parliament for Oldham, who was Parliamentary Secretary to the Local Government Board under Gladstone in 1871–74, and again in 1880–83. The house was featured and illustrated in the British Architect in 1881.

The spelling Lindale and Newton in Cartmel, without hyphens, is used by the parish council.The parish includes the villages of Lindale, High Newton and Low Newton and lies north of Grange-over-Sands.The parish has an area of 1,390.08 hectares (3,435.0 acres) and in the UK census 2011 had a population of 842.

Broughton East is a civil parish in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 173, increasing at the 2011 census to 196. The parish includes the village of Field Broughton and the hamlet of Green Bank at grid reference SD379803. The Parish sits at the southern border of the Lake District National Park. The name Broughton may have come about due to the area being home to a brook or stream.
