Kett's Oak

Spink's Lane was a railway station on Spink's Lane on the eastern outskirts of Wymondham, Norfolk. It was opened very briefly in 1845 to trains on the line from Norwich. The Bill for the Norwich & Brandon Railway (N&BR) received Royal Assent on 10 May 1844. Work started on the line in 1844 and the line and its stations were opened on 30 July 1845. Spink's Lane station opened with the line and was situated east of Wymondham station and west of Hethersett station. The line ran from Ely to Trowse. The link into Norwich was delayed due to the need to build a bridge over the River Wensum that kept the river navigable. One month before the N&BR opened, a Bill authorising the amalgamation of the Yarmouth & Norwich Railway with the N&BR came into effect and so Spink's Lane station became a Norfolk Railway asset.However, two stations in the relatively small Wymondham proved to be overkill, and Spink's Lane closed in November 1845 after only four months of operation. The station building was still extant in 1983 but had been demolished by 1986.Today Wymondham railway station is the town's sole station.

Hethersett Old Hall School was an independent school located in Hethersett, Norfolk, England that educated around 180 boys and girls. It was a day school for girls aged 3–18 and for boys aged 3–11 with boarding for girls from age 9.

Great Melton is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 10.24 km2 (3.95 sq mi) and had a population of 148 in 59 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 163 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of South Norfolk. There is a local legend that the area is haunted by a phantom coach, containing four ladies in white.

The Murders at Stanfield Hall were a notorious Victorian era double murder on 28 November 1848 that was commemorated in print, pottery, wax, as well as a novel by Joseph Shearing. Additionally, it was the inspiration for the 1948 English film, Blanche Fury. The victims, Isaac Jermy and his son Isaac Jermy were shot and killed on the porch and in the hallway of their mansion, Stanfield Hall, Norwich. The perpetrator, James Bloomfield Rush (1800–1849), their delinquent tenant-farmer, who had conducted a complex, devious scheme to defraud them of their property and their lives, was hanged at Norwich Castle on 21 April 1849. The unwitting accomplice to the attempted fraud was Emily Sandford, whom Rush had employed as a governess but who was also his mistress.

Hethersett is a large village and electoral ward in the county of Norfolk, England, about 6 miles (10 km) south-west of Norwich. It covers an area of 4.22 sq mi (10.9 km2) and had a population of 5,441 in 2,321 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 5,691 at the 2011 census. In 2013 Hethersett became the first village or town in the United Kingdom to receive a Prime Minister's Big Society Award for its outstanding contribution to the Olympic legacy and sport and fitness in general.

Royal Air Force Hethel or more simply RAF Hethel is a former Royal Air Force station (ICAO: EGSK) which was used by both the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War. The airfield is located 7 miles (11 km) south west of Norwich, Norfolk, England and is now owned by Lotus Cars.

Hethersett Academy, previously known as Hethersett High School and Science College, is a coeducational secondary school, part of the Inspiration Trust, located in the village of Hethersett in the English county of Norfolk. It has around 1,000 pupils aged 11–16.

Ketteringham is a village and civil parish located in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 6.50 km2 (2.51 sq mi) and had a population of 169 in 70 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 178 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of South Norfolk.

Forehoe and Henstead Rural Districts were adjacent rural districts in Norfolk, England from 1894 to 1935.They were formed under the Local Government Act 1894 based on rural sanitary districts of the same names, and lay generally south of Norwich. In 1935 the Wymondham parish of Forehoe RD was created a new Wymondham Urban District. The remainder, together with the whole of Henstead RD apart from an island in the River Yare, were merged to form Forehoe and Henstead Rural District. Subsequently, changes to the border with Norwich County Borough were made in 1968. In 1974, the merged district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, and became part of the South Norfolk district.

Wymondham High Academy is a state-funded co-educational academy school in the English county of Norfolk It can be found near the centre of the town of Wymondham, to the west of Norwich. It has around 1,650 pupils aged 11 to 18. The principal is Mr Chris Smith. In 2017, the Academy received a 'good' report from Ofsted.

Little Melton Windmill is a tower mill in Little Melton, Norfolk, United Kingdom. Built in the 1830s, it worked by wind until 1904. The tower survives, devoid of machinery.

The River Tiffey is a small river in Norfolk, England and a tributary of the River Yare. It rises near Hethel and passes through Wymondham before flowing generally north-eastwards passing through Kimberley, Carleton Forehoe, Wramplingham and Barford where the Tiffey joins the River Yare.
