Thorsager station is a railway station serving the railway town of Thorsager on the peninsula of Djursland in Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. It opened in 1877 with the opening of the Aarhus-Ryomgård section of the railway line. It was closed in 1971, but reopened in 2019, since when the station has been served by the Aarhus light rail system, a tram-train network combining tram lines in the city of Aarhus with operation on railway lines in the surrounding countryside.

Mørke is a town located in East Jutland, on the southwestern part of the Djursland peninsula, Denmark. It is a commuter town of the city of Aarhus, which lies approximately 26 kilometers to the southwest, and a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Mørke is located in Syddjurs Municipality, which in turn is part of Region Midtjylland, and has a population of 1,694 (1 January 2023).Mørke is served by Mørke railway station, located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. The 2005 Danish film Murk (Danish: Mørke) by Jannik Johansen is named for the town.

Thorsager is a small town in Jutland, Denmark with a population of 1,384 (1 January 2023 census), located in Thorsager Parish, 6 km north of Rønde. The town lies in Syddjurs Municipality and lies in the Central Denmark Region. Thorsager is especially known for its church, which is Jutland's only round church. It was built around 1200. Thorsager is served by Thorsager railway station, located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa.

Thorsager Church (Danish: Thorsager Kirke) is a lutheran church in Thorsager, Denmark within the Diocese of Aarhus in the Church of Denmark. The church is the only round church in Jutland. It was originally built during the 13th century in the Romanesque style, and has gone through several additions, renovations, and restorations since.

Hvilsager is a village of Djursland located in Hvilsager Parish and Syddjurs Municipality. The Indian anthropologist G. Prakash Reddy did field work in the village in 1989, and published his observations in the book Sådan er danskerne! Auning is a minor town on the main road between Randers and Grenå, with a population of 3,134 (1 January 2023). It is located in Region Midtjylland and in Norddjurs Municipality. It used to be one of the two major towns in the abolished Sønderhald Municipality, the other being Assentoft which now belongs to Randers Municipality.

Until 1 January 2007 Sønderhald municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Aarhus County in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula (Djurs) in central Denmark. It covered an area of 138 km2, and had a total population of 8.503 (2005). Its last mayor was Kirsten Wyrtz, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The site of its municipal council was Auning. Other towns in the municipality were Assentoft, Uggelhuse, and Øster Alling. The municipality was created in 1970 due to a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that combined a number of existing parishes: Auning Parish Essenbæk Parish Fausing Parish Hørning Parish Vester Alling Parish Virring Parish Årslev Parish Øster Alling ParishSønderhald municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). The eastern part of the municipality was combined with Nørre Djurs, Rougsø and Grenaa municipalities to form the new Norddjurs municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 661 km2 and a total population of 34,382 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region"). The remainder was incorporated into an enlarged Randers municipality along with Randers, Nørhald, and Purhus municipalities, as well as parts of Mariager and Langå.

Rosenholm Castle (Danish: Rosenholm Slot) is Denmark's oldest family-owned castle. It is located on Djursland, north of Hornslet and northeast of Aarhus. It is one of the best-preserved complexes from the golden age of the manor house – from 1550 to 1630.

Ryomgård is a Danish country town with a population of 2,671 (1 January 2023) located 29 kilometers north east of to the country’s second largest city Aarhus. As such Ryomgård is in part a pendler town to Aarhus. Ryomgård lies in the middle of the peninsula, Djursland, protruding into the Kattegat Sea from another peninsula, Jutland, that extends up from northern Germany. It’s a 216 kilometer drive to the German border. From Ryomgård it’s a two and a half hour drive by car and ferry to the Danish capital Copenhagen on the island of Zealand. Ryomgård is located in Syddjurs Municipality which covers the southern half of the Djursland-peninsula. Ryomgård lies 14 kilometers from the sea.
