Thorsager

Thorsager Church (Danish: Thorsager Kirke) is a lutheran church in Thorsager, Denmark within the Diocese of Aarhus in the Church of Denmark. The church is the only round church in Jutland. It was originally built during the 13th century in the Romanesque style, and has gone through several additions, renovations, and restorations since.

Thorsager station is a railway station serving the railway town of Thorsager on the peninsula of Djursland in Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. Følle is a suburb of Rønde in Syddjurs Municipality, Denmark.

Until 1 January 2007 Rønde municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 101 km2, and had a total population of 7,111 (2005). Its last mayor was Vilfred Friborg Hansen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Rønde. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that merged a number of existing parishes: Bregnet Parish Feldballe Parish Thorsager Parish Rønde municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Ebeltoft, Midtdjurs, and Rosenholm municipalities to form the new Syddjurs municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 693 km2 and a total population of 40,196 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region").

Skaføgård is a manor house in the parish of Hvilsager in Syddjurs Municipality in the eastern Jutland peninsula of Djursland, Denmark. It is not one of Denmark's largest manor-houses, but one of the best preserved. Inside there is an enormous oak closet carved by the Dutch carpenter Mikkel van Gronningen whose most famous work is the pulpit in Århus Cathedral. The closet covers 13 m2 (140 sq ft) of wall space and, in view of its rich detail, is considered to be one of the most outstanding examples of carved wooden Renaissance furniture in Northern Europe.

Gammel Ryomgård is a manor house located in Syddjurs Municipality, Denmark.

Ryomgård is a Danish country town with a population of 2,671 (1 January 2023) located 29 kilometers north east of to the country’s second largest city Aarhus. As such Ryomgård is in part a pendler town to Aarhus. Ryomgård lies in the middle of the peninsula, Djursland, protruding into the Kattegat Sea from another peninsula, Jutland, that extends up from northern Germany. It’s a 216 kilometer drive to the German border. From Ryomgård it’s a two and a half hour drive by car and ferry to the Danish capital Copenhagen on the island of Zealand. Ryomgård is located in Syddjurs Municipality which covers the southern half of the Djursland-peninsula. Ryomgård lies 14 kilometers from the sea.

Karlsladen is a historical barn and visitor centre for the Mols Bjerge National Park in Syddjurs Municipality, Denmark. It is located close to Kalø Castle Ruin and the town Rønde. The thatched and timber-framed building covers 1,000 square meters, and was originally constructed in 1727. It was extensively renovated in 2013 when it was converted into a visitor centre. The barn was constructed in 1727 to store farm crops from the Kalø Estate. Until 1945, the Kalø Estate, was privately owned by the German Jenisch family from Holstein. After World War II, the Danish State confiscated the Kalø Estate, including Karlsladen, as part of war compensation. Today, the estate is owned by the Danish Nature Agency.

Hestehave Wood (Horse Garden Wood) on southern Djursland in Denmark, Northern Europe, at the entrance to The Baltic Sea between Denmark and Sweden, is a recreational wood with a temperate coastal climate, owned by the Danish state. Hestehave is located close to the town Rønde, 21 miles north of the second largest city in Denmark, Aarhus. Hestehave Wood is part of Mols Bjerge National Park, with a southern and eastern coastline bordering the ruined Kalø Castle and the Slotsvig- and Følle Bugt- coves at the southern and eastern perimeter. Historically the wood has been part of the Kalø Estate, where the Danish Environmental Research Institute has its headquarters today. The researchers here often use Hestehave Wood for studies, such as of the 300 roe deer in the area.

Mørke is a town located in East Jutland, on the southwestern part of the Djursland peninsula, Denmark. It is a commuter town of the city of Aarhus, which lies approximately 26 kilometers to the southwest, and a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Mørke is located in Syddjurs Municipality, which in turn is part of Region Midtjylland, and has a population of 1,694 (1 January 2023).Mørke is served by Mørke railway station, located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. The 2005 Danish film Murk (Danish: Mørke) by Jannik Johansen is named for the town.
