The cross in front of the Presidential Palace in Poland (also known as the Smolensk Cross, Polish: krzyż smoleński) is a wooden cross which was erected as a memorial to the 96 casualties of the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash. It was first moved to a chapel in the Presidential Palace on 16 September 2010 and, on 10 November 2010, was again moved, this time to St. Anne's Church, Warsaw, where it currently resides. The cross was controversial, provoking debate in Polish society and media about the issues of separation of church and state, politics, religion and patriotism.

The Presidential Palace (Polish: Pałac Prezydencki) is the official residence of the Polish head of state and president alongside the Belweder Palace, located in Warsaw, Poland. Originally constructed in 1643 as an aristocratic mansion, it was rebuilt and remodelled several times over the course of its existence by notable architects. The current neoclassical palace was completed in 1818. Throughout its history, the palace was a venue for important historical events in Polish, European, and world history. In 1791, the facility hosted authors and advocates of the Constitution of May 3, 1791, the first modern European constitution. In 1818, the palace began its ongoing career as a governmental structure when it became the seat of the Viceroy (namiestnik) of Congress Poland. Following Poland's resurrection after World War I, in 1918, the building was taken over by the newly reconstituted Polish authorities and became the seat of the Council of Ministers. During World War II, it served as a Deutsches Haus for the country's German occupiers and survived the 1944 Warsaw Uprising intact. After the war, it resumed its function as seat of the Polish Council of Ministers. On 14 May 1955, the Warsaw Pact was signed inside the Presidential Palace between the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc countries. Since July 1994, the palace has been the official seat of the President of the Republic of Poland.

Józefa Oblubieńca) commonly known as the Carmelite Church (Polish: Kościół Karmelitów) is a Roman Catholic church at Krakowskie Przedmieście 52/54 in Warsaw, Poland. The Carmelite Church has Warsaw's most notable neoclassical-style façade, created in 1761–83. The church assumed its present appearance beginning in the 17th century and is best known for its twin belfries shaped like censers.

Krakowskie Przedmieście (Polish pronunciation: [kraˈkɔfskʲɛ pʂɛdˈmjɛɕt͡ɕɛ], literally: Kraków suburb; French: Faubourg de Cracovie), often abbreviated to Krakowskie, is one of the best known and most prestigious streets of Poland's capital Warsaw, surrounded by historic palaces, churches and manor-houses. Krakowskie Przedmieście Royal Avenue constitutes the northernmost part of Warsaw's Royal Route, and links the Old Town and Royal Castle (at Castle Square) with some of the most notable institutions in Warsaw, including – proceeding southward – the Presidential Palace, Warsaw University, and the Polish Academy of Sciences headquartered in the Staszic Palace. The immediate southward extension of Krakowskie Przedmieście along the Royal Route is ulica Nowy Świat (New World Street). Several other Polish cities also have streets named Krakowskie Przedmieście. Bolesław Prus Monument (Polish: Pomnik Bolesława Prusa) is a bronze statue in Warsaw, Poland, located in the Downtown district on Jan Twardowski Square, near the intersection of Krakowskie Przedmieście and Karowa Street. It is dedicated to Bolesław Prus, a 19th- and 20th-century novelist, and a leading figure in the history of Polish literature and philosophy. The monument was designed by Anna Kamieńska-Łapińska and unveiled on 15 January 1977.

Badly damaged during World War II, it was systematically rebuilt at a great expense throughout the 1950s, reopening as a hotel in 1962. Managed by Raffles Hotels & Resorts, it reopened on 1 June 2018 after extensive renovations, with 106 rooms, restaurant, bar, spa and Lourse pâtisserie, as well as offices on the top two floors and a luxury shopping center.

Potocki Palace (Polish: Pałac Potockich, Polish pronunciation: [pɔˈtɔt͡skʲi]), is a large baroque palace in Warsaw located at Krakowskie Przedmieście Street 15, directly opposite the Presidential Palace. It was originally built for Denhoff family and succeeded by Potocki family in the end of 18th century. After World War II the seat of the Ministry of Culture and Art (Ministerstwo Kultury i Sztuki). Nowadays - the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego).

The Father Jan Twardowski Monument (Polish: Pomnik ks. Jana Twardowskiego) is a bronze statue in Warsaw, Poland, within the Downtown district, placed at the Twardowski Square, near to the Visitationist Church at 34 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. The monument is dedicated to Jan Twardowski, a 20th-century Catholic prist and poet. It was designed by Wojciech Gryniewicz, and unveiled on 10 October 2013.

The Stefan Wyszyński Monument (Polish: Pomnik Stefana Wyszyńskiego) is a bronze statue in Warsaw, Poland, within the North Downtown neighbourhood. It is placed in front of the Visitationist Church at 34 Kraków Suburb Street. It depicts Stefan Wyszyński, a Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Warsaw and Gniezno from 1948 to 1981. The sculpture was designed by Andrzej Renes, and unveiled on 27 May 1987.
