Coverack Lifeboat Station

Coverack (Cornish: Porthkovrek, meaning cove of the stream) is a coastal village and fishing port in Cornwall, England. It lies in the parish of St Keverne, on the east side of the Lizard peninsula about nine miles (14 km) south of Falmouth.Coverack has several hotels and a youth hostel. The area is a centre for watersports, particularly wind surfing, sailing and diving. The nearby rocks known as the Manacles have been the site of many shipwrecks and as a consequence are now a favourite diving destination.

This stretches to the western Lizard coast at Gunwalloe. The population of the ward at the 2011 election was 5,220.The Cornish rebellion of 1497 started in St Keverne. The leader of the rebellion Michael An Gof ("the smith" in Cornish) was a blacksmith from St Keverne and is commemorated by a statue in the village. Before his execution, An Gof said that he should have "a name perpetual and a fame permanent and immortal". In 1997 a 500th anniversary march, "Keskerdh Kernow 500", celebrating the rebellion, retraced the route of the original march from St Keverne, via Guildford to London.

Tregonan Grange was a Cistercian grange of Beaulieu Abbey at Tregonan in the parish of St Keverne, Cornwall, England, UK. It was founded before 1263 and expropriated before 1527; "considerable remains" existing 1755 have since disappeared.St Keverne was the site of a small Celtic monastery which survived the Norman Conquest but was seized soon after by lay hands. The lands of Tregonan came into the possession of the Cistercian Abbey of Beaulieu. The abbey maintained a small cell of monks at Tregonan to supervise their property. The ruins were said in 1925 to have been removed not long ago.

Porthoustock (Cornish: Porthewstek) is a hamlet near St Keverne in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, on the east coast of Lizard Peninsula. Aggregates are quarried nearby and Porthoustock beach is dominated by a large concrete stone silo that was once used to store stone ready to load ships but is now disused. Coastal trading ships of up to 82 metres (269 feet) can dock alongside the pier along the southern edge of the beach to be loaded with stone. Fishing boats operate from the pebble beach , with lobster and crab potting, net fishing and hand lines as the principal fishing methods. The South West Coast Path passes through Porthoustock. Porthoustock lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. The name Porthoustock comes from the Cornish language words porth, meaning 'cove' or 'harbour', and Ewstek, a personal name.

Porthoustock Lifeboat Station was the base for a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) inshore lifeboat at Porthoustock near St Keverne in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It was in use from 1869 until 1942. Its most notable service was in saving 44 people from the SS Mohegan which sank nearby on 14 October 1898.

Porthallow (Cornish: Porthalow) is a small fishing village on the east coast of The Lizard peninsula to the south of the Helford River, in Cornwall, England. It lies in St Keverne parish, north of St Keverne village. One road runs through the village, and there is public house, the Five Pilchards, named for the pilchard fishery. Porthallow is at the midpoint of the South West Coast Path and is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
