Südbrookmerland

Moordorf is a village in the German state of Lower Saxony. It is in the municipality of Südbrookmerland in the district of Aurich. Moordorf's most notable feature is the Moormuseum Moordorf, showing what life was like in the small huts on the East Frisian moors.

Victorbur (Low German: Vitterbur) is an East Frisian village in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is an Ortsteil and the seat of the municipality of Südbrookmerland, located directly to the north of Moordorf. Victorbur was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the municipality of Südbrookmerland on 1 July 1972.

The Walle Plough (German: Pflug von Walle) is an ancient plough discovered in 1927 by peat cutters outside Walle, near Aurich, East Frisia (Germany). It is one of the oldest known ploughs found in Europe.

Theene is an East Frisian village in Lower Saxony, Germany. A linear settlement, it is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Südbrookmerland, located directly to the north of Wiegboldsbur. Theene was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the municipality of Südbrookmerland on 1 July 1972.

The formerly independent village of Wiegboldsbur (East Frisian Frisio-Saxon: Wiebelsbur) in East Frisia in North Germany has been part of the municipality of Südbrookmerland since the regional reform of 1972. Wiegboldsbur is a ribbon development (Reihensiedlung) and lies on the Großes Meer about 10 km northwest of the sea port of Emden. The parish chair is Bernhard Behrends (SPD).

The Ewiges Meer is the largest raised bog lake in Germany, with an area of 91 hectares (0.91 km²). Its surface lies at about 8.5 metres above sea level (NN). The lake is surrounded by an extensive complex of unutilised areas, that exhibit the actual raised bog profile and, together with the lake, form the Ewiges Meer Nature Reserve (Ewiges Meer und Umgebung) which covers an area of 1,290 hectares.

Aurich (; East Frisian Low Saxon: Auerk, West Frisian: Auwerk, Saterland Frisian: Aurk [ˈau̯ɐk]) is a town in the East Frisian region of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the capital of the district of Aurich and is the second largest City in East Frisia, both in population, after Emden, and in area, after Wittmund.

Ems-Oriental ([ɛms ɔ.ʁjɑ̃.tal], "Eastern Ems"; Dutch: Ooster-Eems, German: Ost-Ems) was a department of the First French Empire in present-day Germany. It was formed in 1810, when the Kingdom of Holland was annexed by France. Its territory is part of the present-day German region of East Frisia in Lower Saxony. Its capital was Aurich. The department was subdivided into the following arrondissements and cantons (situation in 1812): Aurich, cantons: Aurich, Berum, Norden and Timmel. Emden, cantons: Emden, Leer, Oldersum, Pewsum and Stickhausen. Jever, cantons: Esens, Hooksiel, Jever, Rüstringen and Wittmund.Its population in 1812 was 128,200.After Napoleon was defeated in 1814, the department became part of the Kingdom of Hanover.

Südcoldinne is an East Frisian village in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Großheide, in the Aurich district. The village has belonged to Großheide since the regional and administrative reform of 1 July 1972. Before that, it belonged to the municipality of Menstede-Coldinne, which was incorporated into Großheide. The settlement of Südcoldinne began around 1800 on a pasture area south of today's Coldinner Straße. The village was first referred to as Süder-Coldinne in 1871.

East Frisia or East Friesland (German: Ostfriesland; East Frisian Low Saxon: Oostfreesland; Saterland Frisian: Aastfräislound) is a historic region in the northwest of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is primarily located on the western half of the East Frisian peninsula, to the east of West Frisia and to the west of Landkreis Friesland. Administratively, East Frisia consists of the districts Aurich, Leer and Wittmund and the city of Emden. It has a population of approximately 469,000 people and an area of 3,142 square kilometres (1,213 sq mi). There is a chain of islands off the coast, called the East Frisian Islands (German: Ostfriesische Inseln). From west to east, these islands are Borkum, Juist, Norderney, Baltrum, Langeoog and Spiekeroog.

Ostermoordorf is an East Frisian village in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Großheide, in the Aurich district. It is located directly to the east of Berumerfehn. Ostermoordorf was founded around 1790 as a peat colony and was first recorded in 1818 as Ostermoorrott. The current name has been documented since 1852. The village in the moor got its name due to its location east of the Berumerfehn canal.

Südarle is an East Frisian village in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is an Ortsteil of the municipality of Großheide, in the Aurich district. The village is located about 3.5 kilometers from the center of the municipality. The village has belonged to the municipality Großheide since the Lower Saxony municipal reform of 1 July 1972. Before that, it belonged to the municipality of Arle, which was incorporated into Großheide as part of the reform. Settlement in Südarle began in 1797 on the Dornumer Moorweg. In 1848, 252 people lived in the peat colony, distributed across 48 houses.
