Bannalp

Bannalpsee is a reservoir in the municipality of Wolfenschiessen in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden. The reservoir's surface area is 16 hectares (40 acres). The construction of the reservoir was decided in 1934 and completed in 1937. The reservoir is operated by Elektrizitätswerk Nidwalden. The lake can be reached by a cable car from Oberrickenbach, which in turn is linked by post bus service to Wolfenschiessen station on the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg railway line.

The Gross Sättelistock is a mountain of the Urner Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Obwalden in Central Switzerland. It lies north of Engelberg.

The Gross Walenstock is a mountain of the Urner Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Obwalden in Central Switzerland. On its northern side it overlooks the Bannalpsee. The Gross Walenstock is part of the group named Walenstöcke. The closest localities are Oberrickenbach (Nidwalden) and Engelberg (Obwalden).

The Rigidalstock is a mountain of the Urner Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Obwalden in Central Switzerland. It lies south of the Gross Walenstock. The closest locality is Engelberg on its southern side.

Brunni is a recreational area in the municipality of Engelberg, Obwalden, Switzerland. Located on a south-facing slope, it is known as "Engelberg's sunny side". Since 1950 it is connected by railway thanks to Brunni-Bahnen Engelberg AG.

Alongside the central village of Engelberg, the municipality encompasses additional settlements, including Grafenort, Oberberg and Schwand. The municipality of Engelberg is an exclave, entirely encircled by the neighboring cantons of Bern, Nidwalden and Uri. Engelberg is a mountain resort in Central Switzerland. In the Middle Ages, the area garnered recognition for its Benedictine monastery, known as Engelberg Abbey. As time progressed, particularly from the 19th century onwards, Engelberg became a well-known mountain resort. The city of Lucerne serves as the nearest major urban center. While the official language of Engelberg is German, the predominant spoken language is the local variation of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.

Engelberg Abbey (German: Kloster Engelberg) is a Benedictine monastery in Engelberg, Canton of Obwalden, Switzerland. It was formerly in the Diocese of Constance, but is now in the Diocese of Chur. It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Angels and occupies a commanding position at the head of the Nidwalden Valley.
