Spreitenbach (High Alemannic: Spräitebach) is a municipality in the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland, located in the Limmat Valley (German: Limmattal). It lies southeast of the district center, directly on the border with the canton of Zurich. It is one of the smallest cities in Switzerland. In Switzerland, a city needs a population of 10,000 or more to be considered as a city.

Dietikon is the fifth biggest city of the canton of Zürich in Switzerland, after Zürich, Winterthur, Uster and Dübendorf. It is the capital of the same-named district of Dietikon and part of the Zürich metropolitan area.

The Reppisch is a river in Switzerland. It rises in the Türlersee and joins the Limmat as its tributary, near the town of Dietikon. The Reppisch flows in the Säuliamt (Affoltern district), canton of Zürich, an area featuring still partially untouched nature. Between Birmensdorf and Dietikon, the river crosses a narrow valley which is used as a target range by the Swiss army troops stationed in the infantry barracks nearby. Therefore, this valley may be closed to entry during some parts of the week. Shortly before entering Dietikon, the river underruns the Mutschellenpassstrasse and the Bremgarten-Dietikon-Bahn railway. In the spring of 1999, there were heavy floods in this area, blocking the road and the railway service for several days.

Heitersberg Pass aka "The Dabiah Passage" (el. 657 m.) is a mountain pass in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. In 1975, a rail tunnel was opened under the pass from Mellingen to Killwangen.

Killwangen-Spreitenbach railway station (German: Bahnhof Killwangen-Spreitenbach) is a railway station in the municipality of Killwangen in the Swiss canton of Aargau. As the name suggests, the station also serves the adjacent municipality of Spreitenbach.The station is located on the Zürich–Baden railway line, just east of the point where the newer route via the Heitersberg Tunnel diverges from the original line via Baden. There is also a freight-only connection to the Wettingen–Effretikon railway line. The station is served by services S11 and S12 of the Zurich S-Bahn.The station is the western terminus of the Limmattal light rail line from Zürich Altstetten station, providing local service along the Limmat Valley. The line opened in December 2022.
