Newington Junction is a section of the town of Newington, Connecticut. It is centered at the intersection of Willard Avenue (Route 173) and West Hill Road in the northwestern part of the town, in the area generally just south of the Hartford city line. The name of the area refers to the railroad junction where the railroad line from New Haven meets with the railroad line from Bristol and Waterbury. The development of Newington Junction as a result of the railroad was instrumental in the separation of the town of Newington from its mother town of Wethersfield. The area is also architecturally significant for the range of styles used in houses built during the period of significance of the area. The neighborhood contains houses with architectural styles from the late 18th century to the early 20th century. For reasons of both historical and architectural significance, a significant portion of the neighborhood has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as historic districts. The architectural centerpiece of Newington Junction is the Willard Homestead and the Newington Junction Railroad Depot located in the center of the neighborhood. Both properties are separately listed on the National Register. Because the central area is now surrounded by incompatible modern structures, the architecturally significant areas of the neighborhood have been grouped into three clusters, each designated as a separate historic district, namely, Newington Junction South, North, and West Historic Districts.

Newington Junction is a bus rapid transit station on the CTfastrak line opened in 2015 located off Willard Avenue (CT-173) in the Newington Junction neighborhood of Newington, Connecticut. A new commuter rail station named Newington, to be located adjacent to the bus station, is also planned as later phase of the CTrail Hartford Line.The bus station and surrounding neighborhood are named for the NRHP listed Newington Junction Railroad Depot building and freight house, built on the site in the 1890s to replace an 1850s station. Passenger rail service lasted until approximately 1959. The CTfastrak busway follows the previously rail banked right-of-way for the NY&NE Newington Secondary branch that joined the New Haven–Springfield mainline at the eponymous rail junction.

The Willard Homestead is a historic house at 372 Willard Avenue the Newington Junction area of the town of Newington, Connecticut. Construction of the house is estimated to have been in 1730, based on architectural evidence. In addition to being a well-preserved 18th-century house, it is locally significant for its association with the Willard family, who were early settlers of the Newington area. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Coracora is a Peruvian restaurant in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States. It was a semifinalist in the Outstanding Restaurant category of the James Beard Foundation Awards in 2023 and 2024.

Elmwood is a bus rapid transit station on the CTfastrak line, located near the intersection of New Britain Avenue (CT-529) and New Park Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut. It opened with the line on March 28, 2015. The station consists of two side platforms serving the busway, with two center passing lanes to allow express buses to pass buses stopped at the station.

St. Mary Church is a Roman Catholic church, part of Annunciation Parish, located in Newington, Connecticut. St. Mary School closed in 2016. A new pastor, Fr Shawn Daly was appointed in 2016 to oversee the restructuring of the new Annunciation Parish, combining St. Mary Church with Holy Spirit Church in Newington.

The Gen. Martin Kellogg House, now more commonly known as the Kellog-Eddy House, is a historic house museum at 679 Willard Avenue in Newington, Connecticut. Built about 1808, it is a well-preserved example of Federal period residential architecture, and it was home to two of Newington's leading citizens. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 1, 1987.

Elmwood is a neighborhood in West Hartford, Connecticut that encompasses the area south of Interstate 84 and east of South Main Street, extending to the borders of neighboring Newington and Hartford. It is primarily a middle-class and working-class enclave of 10,800 residents composed mostly of postwar single-family homes and duplexes.

Mill Pond Falls is a waterfall located in Newington, Connecticut. It is promoted by residents as the "smallest natural waterfall in the United States". The falls are located inside Mill Pond Park and is celebrated each fall during the Waterfall Festival.

The Sarah Whitman Hooker House is a historic house at 1237 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut. Built about 1720, it is believed to be the oldest standing house in the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1979.

The Charles E. Beach House is a historic house at 18 Brightwood Lane in West Hartford, Connecticut. Built in 1900–01, it is one of the town's finest examples of Shingle style architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 23, 1990.
