Leitrim, Ontario

Kempark (sometimes spelled Kemp Park) is a community in Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, it located in City of Gloucester. The community is located at the south end of Conroy Road when it meets with Bank Street. It is located right next to the village of Leitrim, Ontario. It is about 12 km south of Downtown Ottawa. The community is home to approximately 200 people.

Canadian Forces Station Leitrim, also referred to as CFS Leitrim, is a Canadian Forces Station located in the neighbourhood of Leitrim in Ottawa, Ontario. It is concerned with the interception, decrypting and processing of communication for the Communications Security Establishment and the Canadian Forces, and forms part of the ECHELON system. The station's motto Pacem Petere means Research For Peace.

Findlay Creek is a suburban neighbourhood in Riverside South-Findlay Creek Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. According to the 2021 Canadian Census, the population of the community was 14,089 and there were 4,395 dwellings.The Findlay Creek Community Association is the volunteer group representing the interests of the community. Findlay Creek also has a small shopping centre and 3 gas stations.

Gloucester-Southgate Ward (Ward 10) is a city ward located in Ottawa, Ontario. Located in the city's south end, the ward includes Gloucester Glen east of the Rideau River, most of the Ottawa International Airport, CFSU Uplands, Blossom Park, Greenboro, Hunt Club Park, portions of Heron Gate south of Walkley Road, the Ottawa South/Hawthorne Industrial Park and rural areas west of Anderson Road and north of Leitrim. Previously, the ward included the community of Riverside South located south of the airport but in a ward reorganization, the growing community was included in the new ward of Gloucester-South Nepean. Prior to amalgamation, this area was covered by Southgate Ward on Ottawa City Council and Gloucester South Ward on Gloucester City Council. Southgate Ward was known as Billings Ward from 1980 to 1994, and Gloucester Ward prior to that. The ward was created in 1950, when the area was annexed from Gloucester Township. From 1952 to 1956 it was part of Ward 1.

The Leitrim Wetlands (also known as Albion Road Wetlands) is a large provincially significant bog just south of Findlay Creek, a suburban neighbourhood in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Efforts to protect it from development have been a longstanding issue for environmental organizations in the city.

Hindu Temple of Ottawa-Carleton is a significant Hindu temple in the Gloucester section of Ottawa. For the first time, a Hindu temple in Eastern Ontario in 1985. The temple is located on Bank Street in the rural area to the south of urban Ottawa, south-east of the airport. The site, previously a cornfield, was purchased for the temple in 1984. The $4 million structure, funded by donations made by Canadian Hindus, was officially opened in 1989. It serves the estimated 6,000 Hindus who live in Ottawa, as well as acting as a community and cultural centre for the community with halls, libraries, and other resources. The temple follows traditional Hindu architectural styles, though compromises had to be made to adapt to the cold and weight of snow accumulation. The temple has nine shrines: Ganesha, Kartikeya, Krishna with Radha, Shiva, Lakshmi with Narayana, Rama with Sita and Lakshmana with Hanuman, Durga, Hanuman, and Nataraja. The effort to build the temple was by Pandit Madhu Sahasrabudhe, a food science researcher who had also served as a priest in the city since 1960. Until his death in 2004 Sahasrabudhe also played an essential role in the community. He is the chair of the Capital Region Interfaith Council. In 2002, he led prayers at a multi-faith thanksgiving event with the Queen in attendance. He frequently appeared as part of the Ottawa Citizen's panel of local religious leaders.

Leitrim is an OC Transpo transit station in the suburban community of Leitrim in Ottawa, Ontario. It is located on Gilligan Road, which is just west of Albion Road and south off Leitrim Road, near the former Bytown and Prescott Railway Line. The Trillium Line will be extended to Leitrim in 2023. The station will consist of two side platforms and will connect to the existing bus platforms. The Park and ride will be expanded to 330 spaces, with the possibility to expand to 925 spaces in the future.

Rideau Carleton Raceway is a Canadian horse racing and gambling complex located at 4837 Albion Road in Ottawa, Ontario. The facility began operation in 1962 and specialises in Standardbred harness racing. In 2000, the venue introduced slot machines, under the authority of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) which were expected to draw annual revenue of $130 million. The site includes a restaurant and hosts musical performances.Rideau Carleton is also the site of the Gloucester Fair (now the Capital Fair) since 1998. The raceway provides facilities for numerous charitable fundraisers and hosts annual events for several embassies.The operations at the Raceway are currently run by Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos, which bought the facility in September 2017. Hard Rock holds 51% of the stock.

Blossom Park is a neighbourhood in Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south-end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Before the 2001 city of Ottawa amalgamation it was a suburb of the city of Gloucester. The current limits of the neighbourhood are: Hunt Club Road to the north, Airport Parkway to the west, Conroy Road to the east and the Greenbelt to the south (near Lester Road). According to the Canada 2016 Census, the population of the neighbourhood was 14,190.

Mix FM was an unlicensed radio station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The station broadcast as a pirate radio station on several frequencies, most notably on 91.9 FM. The station was "forced off the air" soon after midnight on December 14, 2009, however, the station later signed back on the air 10 days later. The broadcast of Mix FM was forcibly shut down by Industry Canada on January 15, 2010, although the station continues to operate a podcast stream online. The operator of the station was subsequently found guilty of violating the Radiocommunication Act.

Hunt Club Park (French: Parc Hunt Club) is a residential neighbourhood in Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Ottawa Neighbourhood Study defines the boundaries of the neighbourhood as being Johnston Road-Blohm Drive and Hunterswood Crescent on the north, Hunt Club Road on the south, Hawthorne Road on the east and Conroy Road on the west. The neighbourhood generally corresponds to Census Tracts 5050001.08 and 5050001.07 which had a combined population of 8,825 as of the Canada 2016 Census. The Census also showed 5 people living east of Hawthorne Road, an area generally not considered part of the neighbourhood, but part of the former census tract.
