Bradbury Hospice

The Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care (Chinese: 善寧會) (SPHC) is a non-profit NGO that advocates and provides hospice and palliative care services in Hong Kong, China. It also conducts end-of-life research, education, and training. The organisation’s subsidiaries – Jockey Club Home for Hospice (賽馬會善寧之家) and Jesse and Thomas Tam Centre (譚雅士杜佩珍安家舍) – provide palliative patient care and bereavement support respectively. The current Chairman is Dr Hubert Chan.

Shatin Hospital, formerly known as Shatin Infirmary and Convalescent Hospital, commenced operation on 2 December 1991 and has been in full function since 1 February 1994. Shatin Hospital comprises 591 beds, 144 psychiatric day places, 398 geriatric day places and 49 hospice and palliative day places. It offers services which supplement the nearby Prince of Wales Hospital, the main hospital serving the region.The hospital is located at No. 33 A Kung Kok Street, A Kung Kok. It is surrounded by hills on three sides and it commands a view of the Shing Mun River and Penfold Park. Other institutions in close proximity include the Cheshire Home and the Bradbury Hospice. Shatin Hospital provides services in medicine and geriatrics, surgery, adult psychiatry, psychogeriatrics, oncology and hospice care. The hospital is also equipped with a sleep assessment unit.In line with the Hospital Authority's corporate direction of seamless healthcare, Shatin Hospital has established a Community Geriatric Assessment Team, Community Psychiatric Team and Psycho-geriatric Outreach Team. The hospital also offers a Community Psychiatric Nursing Service, which offers nursing care to patients in their own homes.The hospital also includes a therapeutic garden and health track for convalescent patients. The facility is specially designed to enable patients to break away from the confines of the wards and indoor gymnasium to receive outdoor rehabilitation treatment in a more spacious and open garden, which will also help them to re-integrate into the community. The garden is equipped with a host of simulated transport facilities such as mock MTR train compartments, taxis and minibuses to train patients to use public transport despite physical impairment. Patients are also encouraged to use the facilities after discharge.

Tate's Cairn Highway (Chinese: 大老山公路; pinyin: Dàlǎoshān Gōnglù; Cantonese Yale: daai5 lou5 saan1 gung1 lou6), opened on 26 June 1991, is a dual 3-lane expressway in Hong Kong. It links Tate's Cairn Tunnel and Ma Liu Shui Interchange, forming a part of Route 2 (formerly known as Route 6). From the Ma Liu Shui Interchange, where it connects with Route 9, the expressway crosses the estuary of the Shing Mun River. It then turns southwards, interchanging at Shek Mun with a distributor road (Tai Chung Kiu Road), and reaches Siu Lek Yuen, where the highway splits. One branch leads to Tate's Cairn Tunnel (which continues as Route 2), and the other leads to Sha Lek Highway, which eventually joins Route 1 at Sha Tin Road. The highway is named after Tate's Cairn.

Ah Kung Kok Fishermen Village (Chinese: 亞公角漁民新村) is a village in Sha Tin District, Hong Kong.

Sha Tin Racecourse is one of the two racecourses for horse racing in Hong Kong. It is located in Sha Tin in the New Territories. It is managed by Hong Kong Jockey Club. Penfold Park is encircled by the track, and the Hong Kong Sports Institute is located immediately south of the property. Michael Jackson planned to perform at the racecourse on his Dangerous World Tour, which was the start of the third leg, but was cancelled due to the conflict of the racing season.

Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works (Chinese: 沙田污水處理廠) is a sewage treatment facility in Hong Kong. It is located in Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin, along the Shing Mun River, at its mouth into Sha Tin Hoi (Tide Cove). The treatment works serves Sha Tin, Ma On Shan and the villages nearby. The plant is managed by the Drainage Services Department.It was then extended in several stages. Stage I was first commissioned in 1982 with stage II following in 1986. Stage III was completed in September 2004.Construction work to move the sewage treatment facility to an artificial cave within Nui Po Shan, a nearby mountain, started in 2021.

Penfold Park (Chinese: 彭福公園) is a public park managed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. It is named after Major-General Bernard Penfold, the first general manager of the Jockey Club who was in office from 1972 to 1979. The park is located in the centre (within the track) of the Sha Tin Racecourse with a gross area of over 20 acres. It features green areas, as well as pools used by various waterbirds. People around the area often go there to have a walk. There are many painted horse statues and artworks. It is closed during horse racing days and Mondays.

Chevalier Garden (Chinese: 富安花園) is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan, New Territories, Hong Kong near MTR Tai Shui Hang station. It was jointly developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Chevalier Group, and it was the first HOS court developed by Chevalier Group. It has a total of seventeen blocks built between 1987 and 1988.

Turret Hill (Chinese: 女婆山), also known as Nui Po Shan, is a peak southeast of Tolo Harbour in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It has a height of 399 metres. The mountain is located in the Sha Tin District.

Tai Shui Hang Village (Chinese: 大水坑村; lit. 'Big Stream Village') is a historic village within the Tai Shui Hang area, in Ma On Shan, Sha Tin District, New Territories, Hong Kong.

International Christian School is an English language, Christian independent school in Hong Kong near Shek Mun station. Opened on 1 September 1992, it provides education at all grades from kindergarten to the senior secondary levels.

Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School (Chinese: 香港浸會大學附屬學校王錦輝中小學; abbreviated as HKBUAS or HKBU WKFS) is a Direct Subsidy school in Shek Mun, Sha Tin, Hong Kong. It is the first affiliated school opened by a university in Hong Kong. The school was officially established in 2006, and the first batch of students began attending classes in September of the same year. The school has a total area of 12,000 square metres (130,000 sq ft) and the primary and secondary division is connected together.
