Santa Maria della Misericordia is a Renaissance-style Roman Catholic church located on Piazza di Porta Castiglione #4 in Bologna, region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. It stands adjacent to the Giardini Margherita and Viale Giovanni Gozzadini. A church at this site, outside of the city walls, was rebuilt in 1432 by the Olivetan order. The church was then acquired by an Augustinian order of Friars, who added the portico in the late 15th-century. The interior houses works by various important artists including a fresco (moved to canvas) depicting the Madonna dell'Umiltà (1397) by Lippo di Dalmasio. There are also works by Bartolommeo Ramenghi (il Bagnacavallo), Bartolomeo Cesi, Vincenzo Spisanelli, Ubaldo Gandolfi and Francesco Francia.

The Teatro Duse is one the oldest extant theaters in the city of Bologna, Italy. Located in the Palazzo del Giglio, the theatre's address is at 42 Via Cartoleria, 40124. It was built by the engineer Antonio Brunetti, and the theatre opened as the Teatro Brunetti in 1822. In 1898 it was re-named for the actress Eleonora Duse. While more frequently used as a venue for plays during its history, the theatre has also been utilized for other types of performances such as operas and concerts. The opera composer Guglielmo Zuelli conducted operas at the theatre in the mid to late 1880s. In the 1890s the conductor Antonino Palminteri was active as a resident opera conductor at the theatre. Gialdino Gialdini's opera I due soci premiered at the theatre on 24 February 1892.

The Biblioteca Zambeccari is a former library, attached to the Jesuit monastery and colleges near the church of Santa Lucia in Bologna. Now with two stories of shelves bereft of books, the Baroque frescoed room, located in the Liceo Galvani, is sometimes used for meetings and public events.

The Basilica of San Domenico is one of the major churches in Bologna, Italy. The remains of Saint Dominic, founder of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), are buried inside the exquisite shrine Arca di San Domenico, made by Nicola Pisano and his workshop, Arnolfo di Cambio and with later additions by Niccolò dell'Arca and the young Michelangelo.

The Biblioteca or Library of San Domenico is in the convent of the Dominican Order, San Domenico in Bologna, region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. A library was founded soon after the convent was built, linked to the School of Theology run by the convent. The library layout is a basilica structure with a series of columns and rounded arches, modelled in 1466 by Giovanni Rossi after the Library of San Marco of Florence. Other sources cite Gaspare Nadi, as the architect. Part of the library complex is now the seat of the faculty of philosophy and theology, run by the Dominicans. At one end of the library is a room built in 1497 by the jurist Ludovico Bolognini. The room has Renaissance-style decoration with stuccoes by Antonio Maria Fontana. It has a painting of St Thomas Aquinas by Marcantonio Franceschini. It contains a collection of 35 ancient choral books written on parchment.
