Leighton is a ghost town in Stiles Junction, Oconto County, Wisconsin. The community and settlement of Leighton was named for the John Leigh family who settled in the area along the Little River in the late 1860s and operated a small sawmill there into the 1880s. As in the case of many such settlements, the railroad's station name soon became the commonly used term and Leighton was renamed Stiles Junction ca. 1882. Leighton was located approximately 1.4 mile east of Stiles Junction on County Highway 22 by the Little River Bridge. The community established a post office in 1882 and it remained in operation for 4 years before being discontinued in 1886. The community most likely became a ghost town in the early 1910s.

The town established a post office in 1855, but it was discontinued in early 1882. Later that year in late 1882, the town established a new post office that remained in operation until 1976. The town of Stiles was surveyed in 1839 and organized in 1852. The town was originally planned to be named Eldred.

Stiles Junction is an unincorporated community located in the town of Stiles, Oconto County, Wisconsin, United States. The Stiles area was originally a settled by Anson Eldred in 1853 and named after Howard STILES ELDRED, his son. Jeremiah Stiles, originally from Stilesville, Indiana was a local land owner and head of the Stiles family that settled in this area of Stiles. In 1882 this unincorporated area was given the name Stiles Junction. Nearby is the crossroads of U.S. Highway 141 and Wisconsin State Highway 22.

Brookside is an unincorporated community located in the town of Pensaukee, Oconto County, Wisconsin, United States. Brookside is located on County Highway J near U.S. Route 41, 8.7 miles (14.0 km) southwest of Oconto. Brookside was named from its location at a brook. The town did have a post office that was established in 1871 but it was discontinued in late 1925. Brookside was originally established as a crossroads community in June 1852. In the early 1900s, Brookside had a cheese factory on the eastside of Highway J, south of the intersection. After the closing of the school and bars in the late 1950s, Brookside has since become a sleepy rural community.

Wisconsin's 8th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northeastern Wisconsin. It has been represented by Republican Tony Wied since November 12, 2024. It was previously vacant from April 24, 2024, following the effective date of the resignation of Mike Gallagher, a Republican. Gallagher won the open seat vacated by Reid Ribble who retired in 2016. It is also one of only three congressional districts to ever elect a Catholic priest, Robert John Cornell having represented the district from 1975 to 1979. The other Catholic priest was Robert Drinan, who represented Massachusetts's 3rd and later 4th congressional districts from 1971 to 1981. The 8th District has leaned Republican throughout its history; seven Democrats have represented it since its creation in 1873, but none have served more than two terms. It became more of a swing seat in the 1990s. In 2004, Republican George W. Bush won 55 percent of the vote in the district, while in 2008, Democrat Barack Obama received 53.6 percent of the vote. The last Democrat to represent the district was Steve Kagen from 2007 to 2011. Since Kagen lost in the 2010 election, the seat has been held by Republicans, who have consistently won it by double-digit percent margins in each election to the seat since 2012 and won similarly in statewide elections. The only county in the current district to back the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections was overwhelmingly Native American Menominee County, which has never voted Republican since its creation in 1960, and only Menominee and Door Counties voted Democratic in 2012 and 2020.

It is owned by Oconto City and County. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2025–2029, in which it is categorized as a local general aviation facility. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this facility is assigned OCQ by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

It is located near U.S. Route 41 and U.S. Route 141 8 miles (13 km) south-southeast of Oconto Falls. Abrams has a post office that has been operating since 1882 with ZIP code 54101. As of the 2020 census, the census-designated place had a population of 358.
