St James' Church, Birkdale

St Joseph's Church is in York Road, Birkdale, Southport, Sefton, Merseyside, England, and is an active Roman Catholic church in the diocese of Liverpool. It was designed by E. W. Pugin, and built in 1865–67 with an aisle added in 1875. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Southport Flower Show, held at Victoria Park in Southport, is the largest independent flower show in the United Kingdom. It was originally started in 1924 by the local council, but since 1986 has been operated by Southport Flower Show company, which is a registered charity. It is held annually for four days in late August and has attendances of over 80,000. The patron of Southport Flower Show since 1996 is Professor Stefan Buczacki. The UK's largest and longest running independent flower show, each year it attracts many celebrities from all over the world, from television and film to music and sport. As well as flowers, the show includes other attractions such as cookery demonstrations, gala dinners, music and horse riding displays.

Victoria Park Southport, Merseyside, England, is a public park. It is the venue for Southport Flower Show and several musical events. The show is traditionally held in August each year and has attracted both national and international film and TV coverage since the 1950s The park is also home to the British Musical Fireworks Championships which moved to the park from its previous home on Southport's Marine Lake in 2013. The British Musical Fireworks Championship is no ordinary competition, as each UK competitor who enters are required to synchronise their display to music, to win the competition. The park is also used for the RAF Woodvale Rally, that had to move to the location after Asbestos was discovered on the RAF base, just outside Formby in 2012. However this was cancelled in 2018 following a dispute with the organisers. It is also home to Southport & Birkdale Croquet Club.There are two crown bowling greens and pavilion which is home to Victoria Park Bowling Club.

Southport Lifeboat Station is a former lifeboat station, located in the Victorian seaside town of Southport, situated to the south of the River Ribble estuary, historically in the county of Lancashire, now Merseyside. A lifeboat was first stationed here by the Southport Lifeboat Society in 1812, but was removed from service by 1817. A new boat was provided in 1840. Management of the station was passed to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) on 2 August 1860. The station was closed in 1925 due to silting of the coastline.

The first recorded match on the ground was in 1956, when the Lancashire Second XI played Cheshire in the Minor Counties Championship.In 1959, the ground held its first first-class match when Lancashire played Worcestershire in the County Championship. From 1959 to 2017, the ground played host to 44 first-class matches, the last of which came in the 2017 County Championship between Lancashire and Middlesex.The ground has also held List-A matches, the first of which saw Lancashire play Glamorgan in the 1969 Player's County League. From 1969 to 1987, the ground held 4 List-A matches, the last of which saw Lancashire play Scotland in the 1987 Benson and Hedges Cup.With the first recorded match on the ground in 1956 involving the Lancashire Second XI, the ground has since held a combined total of 25 Second XI fixtures for the Lancashire Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship, Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club. who play in the Liverpool & District Cricket Competition. In February 2016, the Club signed a three year staging agreement with Lancashire to host county cricket, which is believed to be the first of its kind in England and Wales.

Southport Lord Street (later also known as the Ribble Building, after being used by the Ribble Bus Company as a bus terminus) was a railway station located on Lord Street, Southport, Merseyside, England. It was the terminus of the Southport & Cheshire Lines Extension Railway from Liverpool. The station closed in 1952, the building was subsequently used as a bus station and later a supermarket. It is now a hotel.

Southport Pleasureland is an amusement park located in Southport, Merseyside, England. The park originally operated from 1913 to 2006 as Pleasureland Theme Park under the ownership of the Blackpool Pleasure Beach company. In 2007, the park re-opened under the ownership of Norman Wallis.
