Elworth

Sandbach (pronounced (listen)) is a market town and civil parish in the Cheshire East borough of Cheshire, England. The civil parish contains four settlements: Sandbach, Elworth, Ettiley Heath and Wheelock. It lies close to the cities of Stoke on Trent, Manchester, Chester, Liverpool and Salford.

Sandbach Urban District is a former urban district in Cheshire, based in the market town of Sandbach. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 when it was incorporated into the Borough of Congleton, which was itself abolished in 2009.

The Sandbach Concert Series is a series of eight monthly concerts per year, that takes place in Sandbach, Cheshire. Each event begins with a Spotlight Concert that showcases a number of young musicians from local schools, before the main concert featuring professional musicians. There is also an art exhibition, and raffle raising money for charitable causes. There have been over 50 concerts to date.

Sandbach School is a free school in Sandbach, Cheshire, north-west England. It was established in 1677 by local philanthropists, including Richard Lea, who donated the land for the school, and Francis Welles, who helped to fund the schoolhouse. It was located at Egerton Lodge, Middlewich Road, before moving into a new set of buildings designed by George Gilbert Scott in 1851. It became a private school in 1945, and a state-funded independent grammar school in 1955. It became a state-funded independent school accepting boys of all abilities in 1979. In 2011, it became one of the country's first free schools. There are 1220 pupils in the school, aged 11–18. The lower school, years 7 to 11, is entirely boys, however, the sixth form is coeducational. The current headteacher is Sarah Burns, who assumed the role in 2008. In 2011, 96.7% of the students identified as White British, and 6.9% of students had some form of Special Educational Need. Two-thirds of pupils are from the Sandbach and Haslington area, with the remaining third coming from the Crewe area. The school is the largest provider of adult education in the area.

The Sandbach Crosses are two 9th-century stone Anglo-Saxon crosses now erected in the market place in the town of Sandbach, Cheshire, England. They are unusually large and elaborate examples of the type and are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and a scheduled monument.

The school is located on 10 acres (440,000 sq ft) of grounds on Middlewich Road near the town centre.The school was judged as "Outstanding" by the government inspectorate Ofsted in 2008, and was judged to have retained its Ofsted rating in November 2017. In 2016, the school was ranked in the top 50 schools in the United Kingdom by The Sunday Times Good School Guide.
